i ve just realised MK has increased hours during our forthcoming trip-
I'm delighted and clearly need to do some rejigging of plans also:bored:

So; I'm telling this story to dh & he's not reacting at all!
I ask,' are you not super excited for extended MK hours?'
Totally deadpan he replies, ' well, I will be when I'm actually there'.

At least you have a spouse that enjoys it enough to go! I have to listen to hours of how Disney is the antithesis of all he values in the world each time I plan a trip. And very few people can truly understand how much fun it is to plan a Disney trip. To me it like a vacation that lasts a year (if you include the planning time).

I totally get that. Late last year when I first started talking about taking our boys back to Disney this summer, my hubby's response was something like "have a fun time" He said he has no interest in going again in August and with 2 trips in the last 6 years he is done for now. He told me he might think about going again after Star Wars land open, but not in the summer. I should not make it sound so bleak, he is really happy we are going back and he is just as happy to stay home and work on some projects he has been putting off. He does roll his eyes a little when I start telling him all the details of the plans I've made. We'll miss him next week, but can't wait to go back. LOL

I absolutely agree-I was asked recently what my hobbies are and I replied planning Disney trips.
The woman who asked the question just kind of looked at me..

Yup that's like my husband. I said "honey guess what Magic Kingdom (because MK means nothing to him lol) hrs got extended for a few of our days...oh oh and Universal's hrs got slightly updated too"..........*me waiting for any reaction*......I get a "oh cool" but said in a shruging way...ugh

He'll be happy once he gets there and he is more excited about Universal than WDW but still...I need some sort of excitement pwease :crazy2:

I do all the planning. My daughters are like me. We talk Disney all the time. My wife doesn't get excited until we get there. Fortunately, she's into going several times a year. Between WDW, DL and Aulani, we are on a Disney vacation three or four times a year for about 8-10 days each time. So, I'm constantly planning something.

I'm the husband and I do all the planning. lol

Same here.
When I tell HER about extended hours, or that I snagged a perfect time for our ADR and I ask her why she's not excited...She says "I'm happy that your excited".
I have two trips in the works. When I suggested a third, she said no, not yet...
Anyone want an all expenses paid trip to WDW with a 52 y.o. kid? LOL.

Ok, I've got to add a little bit more. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a 10-day trip with DD (EEEEEEEE!). Last night DH started asking, how many trips does this make? do you really like going? what can you possibly do for 10 days? Don't you get bored?

This from someone who's been to Maine a dozen times, weeks at a time, and sits on a porch "water gazing." Not that I'm judging, and I even like Maine too, but ... really? There's an irony here if you look close enough!

ME, I do!!!

Much better than both partners wanting to make plans and not agreeing. I love to plan and the rest of the family appreciates the results of the planning. Win-win all around.
