The Butter Consists of Butter - An October Mother/Daughter TR! (Finished 02/18)

I ended up calling out sick from work today. I hate doing that but I definitely hit a wall this week and just needed some time to sleep and get rid of whatever I've been fighting all week. I fell asleep at like 7:30 Wednesday evening and even after about ten hours of sleep yesterday I still was barely functioning at work.

I came home and got sick too. I hope you were able to get over it quickly and feel better!!

I think this resort is really pretty! I love the colors of the buildings and the beach!

And a monorail photo in honor of @xlsm

37878406662_f4a8e381e7_b.jpg

:dogdance::dogdance: Have you seen the movie Best in Show? The mockumentary about the dog show handlers? There's a song a couple of the characters sings called "God loves a terrier", and at one time I rewrote it and sang it as "God loves a monorail". I'm special like that, LOL!

These are so cute!!

Clearly, the only thing you can do at that point is go on, right?

Right!! Phoenicians and scientists in gogo boots!

was a whole bunch of gibbersh with “une dome” as the only thing close to words. We kept calling it “une dome” for the rest of the weekend!

:rotfl:

We headed into the Mexico pavilion (my favorite) and found some Dia de los Muertos statues:

I love everything about these statues. I took so many terrible pictures of them (the lighting in there, ugh!). Did you see the ones for sale at the vendor booths? They were made of coated paper and GORGEOUS. I wanted some of them so badly but I could not figure out how I would safely get one home. If they are there over NYE I think I'll have to get one. We have a large Hispanic population here and I love everything about Dia de los Muertos. I feel a little cultural appropriation-ish, so I don't want to be disrespectful, but I love it so much.

They didn't, but we did find Larry Dotson.

He's so nice! I saw he was there. We always manage to have trips when he's on property signing. I almost stopped to see him again, but we were doing something else and I never went back.

I love this!

Of course I clearly broke my own “I need something savory” vow five minutes later in Germany when I got Schofferhofer Pomegranate. I really have no recollection of it good or bad, so it’s pretty mediocre, not as good as Grapefruit. But hey, I tried it!

This is one of the things I wanted to try, so I'm glad to see your review. I got really into the grapefruit beer and bought some in Kansas City after we got home, then I got burned out on it. Now it's an "Only at Epcot" thing so I don't ruin the specialness!

one of my mother’s former students who is now a CM

How fun that they had a little reunion!

I spent the evening watching Hocus Pocus

An excellent way to spend an evening! I had it on repeat for awhile today to calm me down after Paranormal Activity.

We had shopped through Mitsukushi and managed to leave without buying the seven million adorable things that they have in the store.

I always feel very accomplished when I get out of there without buying a ton of stuff, LOL!

I love that cheese bread, too! And it's gluten free, amazing!!!

That is also one of the best parts of it! Also, I mean, cheese.

Mmmm the pao de queijo.... One of my mistakes was being too full by the time we got to Brazil so I only had room for two tiny bites! I must go back when I can fully appreciate them :P I'm glad you got to!

Oh that's the worst! Pao de queijo is so yummy!

I came home and got sick too. I hope you were able to get over it quickly and feel better!!

I almost texted you when I saw Larry Dotson to let you know that he was there! But then I figured you were on a plane and it was less than helpful information lol. I always worry about the cultural appropriation of Dia de los Muertos for the same reason, but I think the decorations are so gorgeous. I've seen the Catrina statues made of paper and I've wanted to buy one so badly! But it would not survive in my suitcase. :( :( :(

Une dome!

Guess who doesn’t have her notebook with her at work but is still going to update her Trip Report?

Oh right, that’s me. Also the same person who has yet to finish editing all her pictures so after this update I really need to do that. Oops. That’ll get done….soon?

Anyway,

Part Three!

Once we got to R’s car we drove over to Animal Kingdom for dinner.

24057434358_944173ee3b_b.jpg

We were eating at Tiffins, which I was super stoked about because I have been drooling every time @chunkymonkey posts in a TR that she has eaten there. We got there about a half hour before our reservation time and before they started seating for dinner so we asked if we could still check in. They happily did so and we tried to sit on a bench to wait but it was a little too hot in the area.

37878449262_ae3743c939_b.jpg

We decided instead to head to Nomad Lounge.

37878445602_53e5bdee4e_b.jpg

37878445102_00ed72864f_b.jpg

It took a while for our waiter to come over to us, and then a while to get our drinks. So long that Tiffins had opened and our table was ready before they ever came. R stayed behind to pay after telling our server our table had been called so our drinks were served to the table.

We sat next to the poles from Camp Minnie-Mickey with this gorgeous tapestry behind us.

37878444012_bec57136d6_b.jpg

My drink was Jenn’s Tattoo:

37878443002_26c63bcb52_b.jpg

It’s Ketel One vodka, watermelon, hibiscus, and lime juice. Our server, who was amazing and I wish I had his name down, told me that the hibiscus garnish tastes like a fruit roll up and he was definitely right.

I didn’t get any pictures of anyone else’s drinks because I honestly didn’t think to. My mother got the Hibiscus Henna, which is the non-alcoholic version of Jenn’s Tattoo. Since it uses Sprite instead of vodka it’s a bit more zesty I thought from my sip. Her one request was the light up lotus flower. R got Hightower Rocks (Casa Dragones Blanco tequila, watermelon, sweet-and-sour, and lime juice) while P got the Leaping Lizard (Malibu pineapple rum and Augusta cachaca with orange, passionfruit, and mango juice). I really liked both of these from the small sips I took from them.

We got the Rivers of Light package which, unless they change it, is an AMAZING deal! You get your choice of anything on the menu, three courses, all for something like $60-something. My entree alone was $41.

Anyway, we ordered after some great suggestions from our waiter and were quickly given our bread service.

37878441932_9fe2c981f1_b.jpg

37878440532_36778f5e0b_b.jpg

This is pomegranate foccacia bread with pomegranate/molasses/olive oil on the side. I liked it, but I only had a piece of it. It was a little too tart with the oil for me.

Besides, we had a giant amount of food coming.

For appetizers, I got:

37199639594_1720f505a9_b.jpg

Selectional of artisanal cheeses. This is pretty much my go-to when I can’t make a decision. It was good. There was way more cheese than I could eat on my own.

As I’m writing this update I’m realizing more and more than I knew Mum took pictures of everyone else’s food so I didn’t. Oops.

Anyway, Mum got the black-eyed peas fritters which I think I will get next time I go because they were so good. R got the apple-walnut salad and P got the heirloom tomatoes and house-made mozzarella which looks super fresh and tasty. I didn’t have any because I already had a giant slate of cheese in front of me. He also ate some of my fig which I appreciated. (So. Much. Food.)

Our meals came soon after we finished our appetizers. I got:

37199639154_48ae78dc70_b.jpg

Duo of Venison - Ethiopian coffee butter-infused venison loin, boerewors, soubise, chakalaka, tamarind barbecue, and leak ash. I want you to know that there is 15 minutes until I go to lunch and now I’m starving. I really loved the venison loin. The boerewors was good as well, but the loin really sold it. Getting the leak ash on it for a little extra bit of smokiness that was great. I ate basically all of this and I had literally been eating all day.

Mum and P both got the wagyu striploin and house-smoked brisket:

37199638654_56a2068bda_b.jpg

They both loved it. I had some of mum’s striploin and it was so tasty (though I did like mine more).

R got the grilled swordfish:

37199638094_6b43e5f6d2_b.jpg

I didn’t try it but he was glad with his choice. I mean I feel like you can’t go wrong here, all the food is great and well-crafted.

While we were eating, we heard our waiter utter the infamous words in my title to explain something to another table. We were all really confused, and started laughing.

We were absolutely stuffed, so of course we were getting dessert. I mean we had paid for it already!

I do not have my descriptions of the desserts with me, clearly, so I’ll add those back in once I’m home.

Mine:

37199635034_936a2a9fc5_b.jpg

R got the lime cheesecake:

37199636044_93a3686be7_b.jpg

Mum got the Chocolate Ganache:

37199637464_6e74deca95_b.jpg

And P got the sorbet tasting:

37199635604_370602a412_b.jpg

After we finished I went to the restroom to get changed for the evening. By the time I got back we had been given these sketches done by Joe Rohde:

37199634514_f1754a710a_b.jpg

We paid and left, heading into Pandora:

37199632334_3b492c8067_b.jpg

We had fastpasses for the River ride, so we meandered our way over there. It wasn’t a long wait and we were quickly aboard our boat.

37199629614_70ffffc389_b.jpg

37199629234_ed13444c60_b.jpg

Once we were we hit up the dump shop and, since there was nobody in the general area, we got a group photo.

37199628664_d0f4109ee6_b.jpg

37199627964_d259263b0a_b.jpg

Our next FP was for the safari. We went over and got into line but there was something wrong and it was getting close to the time we had been told to get to Rivers of Light. So, we got out of the line and started over to where we were told to go for the dining package line while R split off to get us some water.

Part Four

See, the problem is, where Tiffins told us to queue up is not where they were letting people queue up. Also, they started letting people in earlier than we were told, so by the time we finally made it over to where we were let in, there wasn’t a whole bunch of room. We were pretty cramped. Those benches are not made for people with knees - I had issues and I have short legs.

The people next to me must have felt the same way, because they sat until our entire area was filled up, then left like 15 minutes before Rivers of Light began.

I took a shocking amount of pictures of RoL considering where I was sitting.

It was….meh. Like, pretty, but between the seating and the fairly singular tone of the show, I’m good with only really seeing it once. I’m not about to try and get seven people coordinated into it next summer.

I split off from the group after Rivers of Light - Mum needed to go back to the hotel and sleep so I hopped the bus to Magic Kingdom while everyone else drove back to the hotels.

24057452788_bb6e0d9325_b.jpg

24057451578_59a931be61_b.jpg

I walked in to the end of Happily Ever After so I slipped up into the train station and waited a couple of minutes for people to start dispersing. Really, what I needed more than anything? Was that feeling you get when you walk into Magic Kingdom for the first time. I just wanted that quiet moment.

24057464548_496395af27_b.jpg

And then I got these two pictures:

26133113559_04d9031d8c_b.jpg

37878483352_b6b3ee6434_b.jpg

And my camera stopped working. Which is awesome.

I figured I’d just meander. I looked for photopass people just to get some pictures but there weren’t many around that night. I didn’t really want to ride any rides. I decided I really wanted an ice cream sandwich though, so I got myself that:

26133111639_b796c21401_b.jpg

Then decided I was ready to call it a night. As I was leaving I found the photopass with the pumpkins and knew I wanted that so I hopped in line.

37676595664_6fb5246c2c_b.jpg

Good night, MK! Until tomorrow!

24057476648_d5cb2fa698_b.jpg

Thanks so much for the ROL Tiffins package review. I am hoping to snag this next year if they still have it (can't see why not but you never know). Very interesting menu selections.

Happy Weekend! I’m posting this on Sunday but I wrote it up Saturday night after getting home from Thanksgiving Meal #1 of 3. It was in Connecticut with my college friends, so I’m writing this up to help myself relax (I’m not a huge fan of driving to begin with but I see it as a necessary evil. However, when it’s raining and super dark I’m even less enthused. Thank goodness for musicals on Spotify!). I’m hoping I’ll get another update out this week, but with two half days, parent/teacher conferences, and tech week, I’m not 100% sure that’ll happen.

Anyway!

Chapter Three: Boo To You!

Fun Fact: There is a song in the show I’m currently in that sounds exactly like the Boo to You theme. And it has made learning the already super confusing words even harder.

Part One

Mum and I got up at 8 am on this morning. While we were waiting for the bus the morning before she had mentioned that all she really wanted was Mickey waffles. Since the OPR building is currently non-existent we weren’t sure we could get waffles at the pop-up cafeterias they had, so I went and looked at MDE and made us a brunch reservation for 10:30 at 1900 Park Fare.

As some of you may remember, I ate here in April and the memory I have of it is much more favorable than the one I had from when I went while I was in college, so I was excited to go back.

We headed out around 9-ish and were lucky enough to get a bus right away! This is a rarity at CBR I feel so we were super pumped.

Once we got to Magic Kingdom and were through security I went through the tapstiles to the locker area. This is the first time I’ve ever rented a locker while at Disney but I mean, it’s the same principle as at any theme park. I had brought a backpack with my Disneybound for that night’s MNSSHP so I didn’t get too sweaty and uncomfortable during the height of the sun so I dropped that in the locker and met Mum, who was taking pictures. I took a few myself:

38470959592_582bc00775_b.jpg

37616113705_2fda49112f_b.jpg

Then we got onto the monorail and headed over to the Grand.

37616113225_19df0f88d5_b.jpg

26726881809_314ca63317_b.jpg

Our reservation was for 10:30 and we had about a half hour, so we looked in the shops and enjoyed the lobby a little bit. I checked us in a little early and gave the woman at the counter my phone number then Mum and I went to sit outside to enjoy.

We were called in within five minutes of putting our names in and were seated quickly. Where were we seated? Literally next to where I sat back in April! Which was great for me, because it meant that I knew about when the characters would be coming to us so we could go get food. Mum and I ordered some coffee and juice then hit up the buffet.

My plate:

37616110725_a9db256082_b.jpg

I got strawberry soup, bread pudding, red velvet pancakes, Mickey waffle, breakfast pizza, croissant, cheesy egg, and a biscuit.

If you’re thinking “Man, that butter looks weird”, it’s because it’s cream cheese, and I’m an idiot who accidentally grabbed some cream cheese instead of butter.

The characters started coming over soon after we got our food:

We finished and paid, happily full, and quickly visited Mum’s favorite, Tigger!

26726877309_0fe72f6699_b.jpg

26726876859_cb92543c33_b.jpg

Then we headed back out to the Magic Kingdom.

Part Two

As we walked in I asked Mum if she minded taking some pictures up at the top of the train station. I knew her knee was bothering her and the stairs may be tricky but she came up with me.

26726873349_3b5aa7ae4a_b.jpg

As we were up there a family was taking a picture so Mum helped them out so they could all be in the picture. In return they took pictures for us:

26726861059_9980dce75a_b.jpg

Mum wanted to go through the Emporium and just poke around a little, so we headed in that direction. As we were walking Move It, Shake It was heading by so I stopped to take some pictures:

37616086325_c463fb3f7b_b.jpg

Then I realized the time. One of my bucket list items for this trip was watching the castle show since I hadn’t seen it since it changed. I asked Mum if she minded if I left her for a bit and she told me she’d meet me afterwards at the Hub Grass section near Tomorrowland. So off I went to go watch the castle show!

I hope everyone who celebrates had a nice Thanksgiving! This is going to be 98% pictures this update!

Part Three

I really wanted to see Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire, and I made it just in time for the show to start. There was a decent-sized crowd but nobody was really standing on the left-hand side of the castle, so I got right up next to the rope. Seriously, this is with no zoom:

37616085045_14e65f1c7b_b.jpg

And now for about fifty million pictures of the castle show:

I slipped out before the end of the show. For one I wanted to get out of the crush of people before it became too much. For another, I had been texting with @xlsm - for those of you who have followed either of our TRs before since like 2014 you'll notice a pattern: we tend to miss each other by a day. Or, in the case of that 2014 trip, we're in the same restaurant at the same time and don't realize our ADRs lined up until an hour later! So for this super short (for me) trip, one of my goals once we realized we would actually be in Disney at the same time was for us to ACTUALLY meet up. She was in Fantasyland with her mother, which was perfect, because the best way for me to get over to my mother would be the long way through Fantasyland anyway.

So once the finale started I slipped out and made my escape up the side of the castle, from Liberty Square. Once we could see each other we started waving like crazy! It was so good to finally meet up - I hope we can do it again for longer sometime!

We took a DisMeet photo together (which I blatantly stole rom her TR that you should go read if you're not already):

And then I had to continue on my way. Their line to meet the Fairy Godmother had started moving again and I needed to go find my mother to figure out what our game plan was for the rest of the day.

Sorry I disappeared! December was so insane (work, holidays, performances, auditions, rehearsals....) that I decided I would wait until my Christmas break started to update because I needed to edit pictures too. And instead Christmas break was filled with stuff to do. Thank goodness for hurricane-strength nor'easters giving me days off so I can finally come back!

Part Five

I left my DISmeet to meet Mum. The castle show had just ended and it was a little insane to try and go back the way I came (swimming up-stream and all that) so I walked around to the Futureworld side of Fantasyland to meet up with her. When I found her, she was interested in getting something to drink to beat the heat, so I offered to go to Starbucks.

Is it really Disney if you don't take a picture of your Starbucks drink in front of the castle?

24448397247_237aa89739_b.jpg

We sat outside the Plaza to enjoy our drinks. Mum suggested seeing if we could find something to grab a fastpass for, so we grabbed some for Little Mermaid. There was an hour before the FP would be good so we headed into Tomorrowland to do a couple of favorites.

First, we went onto Carousel of Progress. Then we stopped to grab water and I....got a snack:

it's just a "small" snack! lol. I fell in love with this bucket and had to get it. We went onto the Peoplemover to enjoy our snack!

24448393667_df30fea2f6_b.jpg

It was just about time for our FPs so we headed on over to Fantasyland. We enjoyed our trip under the sea, though I only managed to get one blurry picture from an e-stop of the ride:

24448392817_271c5f7e0a_b.jpg

Mum and I met up with R once we got off the ride. P was meeting us in a couple of hours, but had decided to stay in the hotel room until it was time for our MNSSHP to start. We decided to spend the time doing what we do best - wander through all the air conditioning in Disney!

39283095122_af63b2222d_b.jpg

I looked longingly at the LeFou's Brew but ended up not getting it because I was so full of popcorn.

R suggested that we go into Philharmagic to get out of the heat, sit, and relax for a little bit.

We were in there for 45 minutes. Packed in.

The ride closed. We have no idea why. We finally got and got the anytime FPs that we never managed to use:

And by that time we were even hotter and tired of standing, so we went to Adventureland. They left me for Dole Whips and I got into the longest line I've ever stood in for Sunshine Tree Terrace. But it was worth it because I got myself this beauty:

24448390587_135e8e44e7_b.jpg

Ladies and gentlemen, the citrus swirl float. Seen a bunch, but still so good! It doesn't knock the Dole Whip or LeFou's Brew off my top two list, but it definitely comes in at a close third. Very close. Okay, it may have edged past LeFou's Brew A LITTLE for me.

It was time for us to go meet up with P, so we headed towards the front of the park.

I'm sneaking in for a quick update. I've been able to post small things in other areas of the Dis recently but haven't had the time to sit down and actually do this. So I forced myself to make time.

Part Six

It was time for our MNSSHP!

I hadn’t been to one since I was 11, so I was pretty excited.

First, though, we had to meet up with P. He was waiting in Tomorrowland because he had booked us a Hallowishes dessert party and we needed to check in at 4.

39283092892_39f721332f_b.jpg

After we grabbed our badges for the dessert party we headed to Main Street. I darted out to grab my backpack out of the locker to change. Before changing we grabbed our wristbands, then Mum and I went to the restroom to change. I was in and out in no time and got to watch the Dapper Dans before Mum was even out.

39283087982_b5836863d1_b.jpg

But then we were ready to go!

We got our Sorcerer’s Card:

39283092022_538e5a61c5_b.jpg

And then I went back to stow my backpack and some of the things Mum had bought earlier (which I currently cannot remember. I think she bought a present for a coworker? We’ll go with that.)

While I was away she took this picture of herself:

37514076100_bdc68ace6a_b.jpg

She was probably as excited as I was - probably more. She didn’t get to go with me the last time I had gone to MNSSHP and she hadn’t ever gone to any of the parties before.

We were shuffled through the party entrance:

24448384727_879bbca62c_b.jpg

And I had to stop and buy the pin. I found it again later that night but I didn’t want to not buy it and miss out.

We had an ADR for Skipper’s so we headed there first. Mum had us stop for a Castle picture first - always stop for castle pictures!

24448660897_4cc16892bb_b.jpg

We got to Skipper’s, P checked us in and we waited.

And waited.

And waited.

We got there a little early, but we must have waited over half an hour just to be seated. I don’t know if they were taking non-party guests first but it was to the point that we were ready to leave - other people had. They finally called our name and we were brought to our table.

39311502231_2b86d15459_b.jpg

Our waitress definitely made up for it. She was funny, she played guessing games with us to try and figure out what we wanted to have for our entree, and she was attentive. I think the longest she was away was with the check.

I got the pasta dish:

39311501301_d6884ffc27_b.jpg

I took absolutely no other pictures of our meal because I was starving. I also got Guarana Soda which I have waxed lyrical about on many occasions on the Dis.

We didn’t get dessert because we figured we had the dessert party and we were going to get some candy, so we paid and left. We hit up the candy stops around Adventureland before heading back towards the Hub to watch the Sanderson Sisters show. We got a really great spot right on the rope that blocks off the handicapped area.

As an end to this post, I present the least horrible of my iPhone pictures of the Sanderson Sister show:

Part Seven

After the Sanderson Sisters show, it was time for us to go back to the Tomorrowland Terrace area. We did the fancy dessert party, where you could go in early to choose your table. We did that and P decided that he was still pretty exhausted and didn’t really want to go to all the different candy stops. R, Mum, and I left most of our stuff with him and went off into the world in search of something sweet!

Our first stop was not candy, however. It was a ride on the Haunted Mansion!

I mean, how could it not be? How could you not go on Haunted Mansion during the Halloween party? It’s just what you do!

The line was long but moved very quickly, and soon we were returning to the mortal world.

I took absolutely 0 pictures of any of the places we got candy, but believe me, we traveled all throughout Fantasyland and Tomorrowland in search of it! We did have one very odd interaction that has nothing to do with candy, though:

So, if you look back at the picture we took in front of the castle, you’ll notice that R is wearing an orange shirt. It’s not a costume (though he jokingly said it was); it is an orange shirt that he bought at like Eddie Bauer or something. It looks nothing like the green and orange candy stripe party outfit CMs wear.

We went into Merchant of Venus because they were selling party things and my mother was really interested in buying something for my dad. At this point I forgot what it was but it was a little ornament of some variety. We also just poked around looking at different things. I found an AP party pin I really liked so we went up to the counter and were making our purchases. R was still looking around but he moved to the front display between the door and the counter so he could see when we were finished. A woman comes up to him holding a shirt and asks if the store had the shirt she was holding in her size in another color she had seen. He apologetically said “oh, I’m sorry I don’t work here” and kind of took a step back to indicate the CMs that were behind the counter. She looked annoyed with him and asked him again. A CM putting a couple things away behind the counter saw and stepped in but it was very strange. It was one of those “huh” moments that just stick out with you!

Since we were in Tomorrowland we decided to loop back to Tomorrowland Terrace. A CM saw our badges and let us into the exit of the party so we didn’t have to deal with crowds, which was super nice of him!

We found P and told him about the strange encounter, then decided to fill up our plates full of more dessert, because you know, that’s what we need…

38908839685_6aba47fe63_b.jpg

I got a worms in dirt cupcake, a chocolate cupcake, a chocolate panna cotta, a chocolate-covered strawberry, and two macarons. I also got a glass of sparkling cider and the poison apple juice which was a little too sweet for me. I tried one of the other juices but I don’t remember which - that was better.

We settled in and got ready for Hallo-Wishes!!!!

It was nice to just sit and relax and watch it.

Once it was over, Mum, R, and P were pretty much done for the night. I told them I really wanted to watch Boo to You, so we split up. It was already pretty packed for Boo to You but there was a section on the ground that was taped off and no one had sat in. Myself and two families were kind of standing there awkwardly when a parade route CM came over and told us that if we sat there we were fine. He also told all the little kids in the area that once he gave them the signal they could go sit in the walkway to have a better view, which was great!

If I had had a real camera I would have gotten amazing shots of Boo to You. As it was I have these INCREDIBLY BLURRY AND GRAINY PICTURES that you’ll just have to deal with. It did force me to watch the parade and enjoy, though!

Once the parade was over I kind of ended up floating with the crowd. I slipped into the Emporium and decided to look around. I got some party gear (a shirt and a tervis) and just kind of poked around a little bit to let the crowds thin before paying and heading out to get my bag out of the locker. I got back to the room close to midnight and packed up what I could in the dark to get ready to go home the next day.

Chapter Four: Good Bye

I only have like 5-ish pictures in this update so I’m just gonna finish up this TR!

We got up around 6:30 so that we could finish packing. We then went over to drop off our bags with Airline Check In and Bell Services.

Goodbye, Caribbean Beach! You are so lovely!

24937294247_19443d321b_b.jpg

We were out of our room by 7:45, and it took us until 8:15 to get a bus that would take us to the Custom House. Then we had to go back to Martinique.

It took us FOREVER to get a bus, but when we did, it was this awesome one:

28028997639_aa212e0011_b.jpg

We had decided to go to Epcot for our last few hours of Disney. We only had the morning but it was better than nothing! We had originally planned to get up early to get on the Frozen ride in Norway as I knew my mother wanted to ride it, but morning-of she didn’t want to rush. We had FPs to Soarin’ so we headed over to Sunshine Seasons, our personal favorite, for breakfast. Mum got some eggs or something but I got:

24937293447_ec701dcf71_b.jpg

A cinnamon roll and a chocolate milk. Literally my favorite go-to Disney breakfast. Because I’m 5.

By the time we finished eating we still had time to kill, so we went over to MouseGears. Mum wanted a new watch and I wanted to ogle the purses, so we spent some time in the jewelry section. Mum convinced me I needed the AP Food and Wine Purse. Which I did not, but I got anyway (how can I not? It’s got Figment on it!) and she got a new watch.

We trekked back over to Soarin’ for our FP at 10:40:

28028996939_bd33585c69_b.jpg

Then tried to brave the heat of the day in World Showcase to get some more food.

Oh! Monorail Gold, my favorite!

28028996639_6a26f4f493_b.jpg

We did not make it far. I had wanted to just get something from Canada, but the further in we went, the more exhausted and overheated my mother was getting, so we stopped for a Dole Whip instead:

38908832715_5b1b511b0d_b.jpg

I took this picture of myself in line for a Dole Whip - you can see just how bright the sun actually is:

38908831485_4808f20f45_b.jpg

My makeup could not hide my mass of freckles it was so sunny!

We decided to walk slowly out of Epcot, but there was one thing I had wanted to do for Food and Wine that I did not get to do all weekend and was bound and determined to do:

28028995819_2e08c91220_b.jpg

Light lab!

It was nice and cool in there, and my mother appreciated the AC. We had literally just finished our Dole Whips, but got in line to get a drink there anyway. I took no pictures of her because she was done with it before I had finished ordering, but she got the RGB - a Strawberry Kiwi Apple Freeze.

I got the Bleu Spectrum:

28028995229_427709c1a1_b.jpg

Liz and I watch a lot of Disney bloggers, and Max (mrcheesypop) is one of our favorites. When I saw him get the Bleu Spectrum on his Food and Wine trip I knew I wanted it. It was lightly alcoholic, but it was refreshing and the boba were fun.

After that we said goodbye to Epcot. We got onto the 1:10 Magical Express and had an uneventful flight home.

A quick look at what I bought on this vacation:

28028998579_37eb2565d2_b.jpg

Thank you guys for reading along! It means a lot to me! I still have to finish my DLR trip report over on the other side of the DIS (maybe I’ll manage to do that this week), so if you want to hear more about my adventures in Disney hop on over there!
