Tell me about Joshua Tree PArk

..... is it worth a 4 hour r/t drive? I love national parks, and going to be staying a couple of hours away..... what is the draw here? What is there to experience? I can't really tell much from photos I've found online....

For me, yes. Joshua Tree has solitude and rocks. It's a three/four hour roundtrip from my house and we go at least 5-6 times a year. If you do go, please make sure you are either there for sunrise or sunset - the place becomes magical and alive during these periods. There was another post here a few months back on Joshua Tree that I posted in, I'll try to find it.
