Is it ok to tape on the door a "sign in here for the 50th" sign?
how about pictures on the walls in the room (studio)?

Would you do that in your own home? If you would be afraid of ruining paint finishes in your own home, be afraid of doing it in your vacation home too. If you are using something that couldn't possibly leave a mark, I see no problem.

Get the 3M hangers and stickeys they work great and leave no marks at all.

You just never know what tape will do but it will leave behind a residue.

Absolutely don't use tape on the doors! I made a DIS door sign to hang outside our door at BWV. I used regular scotch tape to adhere it to the door. When leaving I did my best to carefully removed the sign, but some of the paint finish came up with the tape. I reported this to the bellman and showed him when he arrived and also reported it and offered to pay for the problem when I checked out. I don't know how people adhere these signs to their doors, but I won't be doing it in the future.
