We got into the mid-day break habit when my daughter was younger and we still do it. We stay in the park until just after lunch and then we return after a few hour rest. I would recommend that you make the choice on how many days you'll want to go into the parks and buy tickets soon (Undercover Tourist will save you a few dollars). There is a thing called "Fast Pass +" which will allow you to essentially reserve 3 rides in advance. It can get pretty deep and confusing, but here is a FAQ: https://www.disboards.com/threads/fastpass-frequently-asked-questions.3491680/ . As an "offsite" non-Disney resort guest you can book yours 30 days in advance of your trip.We are thinking about adding Disney days, initially decided against it because we've heard how much walking it is (and how hot Orlando is in the summer). Definitely a thought, though.
