Sequoia Lodge Trip Report with Pictures (Part 7)

MICKEY'S DREAMERS

WDW or Hawaii? This is the question!

After getting our tickets we had some free time before the beginning of the Lion King show.
So, in the waiting time, we enjoyed two of the DLP Christmas shows.
The first (Le Noel de Mickey = Mickey's Christmas) is a show in a heated theatre where Disney characters and dancers sing and dance well known Christmas songs, a cute show even if it was quite strange to hear French translation of internationally known themes like "Jingle Bells" that, in French, becomes "Vive le Monde"; this is my favorite Christmas show.

The second was a short show in Fantasyland, where Belle's Village was reconstructed with a Christmas look; "houses" are just small shops selling usual Disney stuff. The show was an open air medley of some Beauty and the Beast songs.

We also had time for DGH preferred dark ride: Grumpy, Snowhite and the other six dwarfs :)

GRUMP!

Time for a short break in the resort; I would like to spend a few words more on the nice “lodge” theme of the Hotel, very close to WDW Wilderness Lodge.
Sequoia Lodge has majestic views over the Disney lake and the Disney Village (something like Downtown Disney at WDW). It's inspired by America’s national parks, with wooden furniture and a wonderful (real) stone fireplace in the centre of the Redwood Lounge. There are two restaurants; our favourite was Hunter’s Grill, where you seat at wooden tables and the chef comes to you with succulent roasted meats served on giant skewers. We also enjoyed the short hike among the thousands trees (sequoias?) to reach their very nice swimming pool which is in a lodge apart from the main building. The festive “attire” gave even more charm to this very cozy resort.ALL of the Cast members were ALWAYS smiling and VERY friendly !!

Excellent chapter to your trip report! A great read. Jingle Bells in French is actually "Vive le vent, Vive le vent, vive le vent d'hiver". I totally agree that it is odd to hear them in another language. :D

Thank you !!

We could not realize they were saying " vent" !
Now ... when I sing while doing my laundry ... I have the right words !

Happy new year ! laura
