So for those of you that have done ireland, or are planning to do it, what ages of kids are usually on the trip? Like, what is the normal/appropriate age for a child to go on the trip

On our trip, we had six kids who were between the ages of 8-15. We travelled with our friends and they had a 10 year old boy who loved the trip and had an awesome time...

my daughter and her cousin want to go on this trip but they will be 18 and 16 when they take the trip. will they be too old? My daughter (16) is not worried at all, but my niece is worried that it will be too kid-like. what do you think?

The trip is not kid like at all! We had 40 people in our group, six were kids. While they had a few special treats in store for them, everyone did and saw the same things. For example, on the tour of the Guinness Storehouse, the adults go to the beer tasting, kids went to explore a "secret" passageway. In Killarney National Park, the tour of Muckross House was split; one tour for kids, one for adults. There was a dinner for adults only one night and the kids got pizza, snacks and a movie...

Keep in mind, any person under the age of 18 is considered a "kid". Also, per the ABD website, "All children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is 18 years or older in the same room." Double Check with ABD but the girls (mainly your daughter) may not be able to go without you or another legal guardian...

Thank you sooo much Poppins!

I really wasn't worried, because my daughter had an AMAZING time on the Australia trip. My mother would go with them, so that would be their "parent". She came to australia with us, and I think she will do fine on this trip. Thanks so much for the info and I will let them know!

Take it from an Irishman, you and your family will all have a brill time here in Ireland. There is so much to do for all ages and nothing can beat the irish CRAIC and our own Guinness which tastes so much better here than anywhere else in the world.Your daughter and her cousin will love it here as there is lots to do for all ages. Our weather can be bit cold and damp depending on time of year but Ireland makes up for it in so many other different and special ways.So pack your bags and look forward to coming to the land of 40 shades of green and the country of a million welcomes.Cead Mile Failte........:) :) :)

I'm going in June with my niece who turned 8 last week. She is very excited about it!

On our Ireland trip there were kids from age 6 to 16 or 17 .

How often do they do ABD in Ireland? Are there certain times of year or is available all the time? I'd love to go. Seeing the countryside of going to the pubs just seems so much fun. I'm only a small portion of Irish but that's the portion I cling to the most. It's always been a dream of mine to go.
