question about scooter rentals

I rented my scooter at the theme parks the last time I went in 2013. I read in the FAQ thread about scooter rental from outside companies for $31 a day. I am interested in that (although I don't need a scooter off Disney property) but was wondering how and where you rent a scooter accessible car and does the cost of the more expensive car eat up your savings of just getting your scooter in the park? We had planned on getting the tiniest, cheapest car rental possible but obviously you can't do that with a scooter. And is it hard to lift the scooter onto the back of the car? TIA.

If you get a scooter that comes apart, it will fit in most trunks. I fit two scooters in my prius (with half the back seat down). No special car needed.
