Hi, My sister and I are thinking of coming to Disneyland from Australia in the first week of December. Will it be fairly quiet then, is it a good time to go? Also, we are thinking of staying at the Disneyland Hotel, is it pretty close by? Do they have Mickeys Very Merry Xmas Party at Disneyland like they do at WDW in Dec? And finally, what is the weather like in Dec? Hope you can help, thanks in advance!!! :)

The first week in December is a GREAT place to go. You will be able to enjoy the Holiday decorations without the Thanksgiving or X-mas crowds. This is usually a very slow week since schools are off the week before.

The weather is usually pretty good with small chances of rain. You will probably be able to wear pants/short sleeves during the day and a sweatshirt at night. Of course, it could always be very hot or cooler than normal.

There have not been any holiday parties scheduled at Disneyland like at WDW except for the Haloween Parties this past year at DCA. You really don't need a private party though. The entertainment is so great during the regular day!

The Disneyland Hotel is on property. It is quite a walk to the entrance of the parks, but you can take the monorail into Disneyland.

We're Aussies, we went in the first week of Deecember 2004 and we had a sensational time - it's without doubt the best time to go.

Weather is cool, rather than cold, and crowds are non existent (apart from on weekends). Most rides we walked straight on and we were able to turn up late, do 20 rides a day without having to rush around, get dinner in Blue Bayou without a reservation, and get front row seats for the parade less than 20 minutes before it started.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson which was cheap, close by, clean, safe and had great beds and great staff. It's about the same distance from the parks as the Disneyland Hotel.
