My daughter is planning her wedding for September of 2019. She is wanting to get married at the Wedding pavilion and have a dinner reception at Epcot in Italy. We are just in the early stages of planning. We have our sight visit scheduled in July and have purchased the Fairytales wedding book. I have a couple of questions (which I’m sure is the first of many). First do they do a rehearsal for the wedding and if so is it at the pavilion? Secondly we have been discussing the reception and it says the venue comes with white linens, tables, and chairs. Do you get to pick a specific table and chair?

Yes they do a rehearsal the day before. You are not given the time until 30 days prior. My daughter was married last November and I was the point person for pretty much everything. You are not guaranteed the wedding pavilion for the rehearsal until that 30 day mark. It's dependent on what else is scheduled. I very much wanted the rehearsal to be there for the ease of understanding what was going on etc and was extremely flexible with the timing. I gave them my preferred time but said we would do it anytime that day to be able to do it there. We did get our preference,

My daughter's reception was in a GF ballroom and it came with standard round tables and chairs and white linens. We could change out the chairs for a fee or use chair covers for a fee, napkin colors and linens can also be upgraded for a fee. I'm not sure how that works in the countries. Have fun! It was so much fun planning the Disney wedding. We just got all the photo albums back and it was such a great day.

Thank you. I’m so glad to hear it’s worth it. :) Do you know what is considered a standard chair? Is it the plastic chairs I’ve seen in pictures?

Welcome!

At Epcot you have your choice of white or black linens free of charge. The standard chairs are black plastic, which you can see if you scroll down to the bottom of my Italy Isola photo page: https://disneytravelbabble.com/disney-weddings/wdw-venue-photos/italy-isola/

You can bring in other chairs (from a wide range of choices) for the cost of the chairs (starting at $6.75 each) + a delivery fee. The nice thing is, if you want to bring in upgraded cutlery, the chair delivery fee covers their delivery as well.

When you get to Chapter 3 of the Fairytale Weddings Guide, a lot of this is discussed in the Reception Floral and Decor section. But the delivery fees vary and can only be quoted by your Disney Floral Specialist. They start around $150 or $200.

Thank you for all the great information. I was thinking I read somewhere that if you have your reception at Epcot at one of the outdoor locations when the park is open you can’t have any other music. Do you know what the rules are regarding that? Btw your book is so very helpful and highly recommended.

@Barbara Smith this was something I looked into as well because I really wanted to have a DP as my reception but add in dancing. From what I remember, they said we couldn’t have music played by a DJ or speaker until up to 2 hours after the park closed if it was an outdoor location. Some people reported getting some “pixie dust” and were able to start their music 45 min - 1 hour after the park closed, but I didn’t want to take that chance (I think it all depends how fast they’re able to clear the park). Plus, that would make for such a late night if the music couldn’t start until 10/11pm ish.

Congratulations!

While its been 10 years since my daughters Disney Wedding, I can tell you that they will make your experience magical. We told them what we wanted (within reason of course) and it was done, we just showed up and enjoyed the experience. They were married in The Pavilion and had their rehearsal there as well. We wanted a 5pm rehearsal, but all that was available was 12:30 the day before, so we had a rehearsal luncheon instead of dinner. They picked The Atlantic Dance Hall for the reception, we used the provided linens and had to pay for the chair covers. They also wanted a dessert party after the reception. We held it in The England patio, it was beautiful, a perfect way to end the day!!

Congratulations and enjoy the planning, the time flies by!!!

Thank you everyone for all your great information. We are pretty excited. We fly in next week for our sight visit, which I’m sure will bring on a whole slew of questions that we hadn’t even thought of.
