Pin codes released today

I called today to try and get a standard at WL instead of a woods view with my AP rate and no such luck, however the CM, Brianna Elise was very informative.

She said that yesterday evening there was nothing left for WL other than Deluxe rooms ($450/nt), but today while I was on the phone with her she had availability with the AP code in both Woods and Courtyard view, which means what we all know...people are changing ressies left and right.

She also said that 1 million pin codes came out today associated with randomly selected people, so they are not expecting things to ease up!! So if you're hoping for general codes maybe if they don't come out you'll be the lucky recipient of a pin code!! :cheer2:

Yeah, I called tonight and my husband had a pin code, but it was only good for stays through April 30. I talked to the most somber CRO agent EVER, though, so I didn't ask him to go into the details of the offer since I can't use it anyway.

Tara,

I know what you mean. The first CM I talked to yesterday was the same way and told me that nothing was available and I should just be happy with my AAA rate. I knew that couldn't be right and called back and got a great CM who even helped me set up the magical express for my stay.

Do they send anything out to let you know you have a PIN code assigned to your name - or is it just the luck of calling and finding out you have one? How long do they keep the code assigned to your name? I'm still so new at this and have a lot to learn.

I called this afternoon and asked if I had a PIN code assigned to my name. A very "unmagical" CM said that I did not have one and that I should be happy with my AP rate as it was "a good one". I told her that I got better AP rates during Christmas week which is holiday season than what was being offered now. I also mentioned that in the 15 years that I have been visiting WDW, I have never received a postcard, e-mail, or any other discount code offer. Her reply was that the Marketing Department decides who gets the offers and that the discounts were different at this time because they were experiencing a large increase in people making ressies this year.
Moral of the story..if you got through and got an acceptable rate be happy with it.

Just a friendly reminder..don't shoot the messenger.

While I definitely think that no CM should ever be rude over the phone, being a fellow reservations agent (unfortunately not for Disney), I can tell you that when promotions drop, life is hell for reservations agents. I work at a casino and our promotions dropped last week..lemme tell you, for 10 hours straight, I did nothing but talk, multiply that by 4 days. You finish one call, there is a less than 2 second delay and then there is another call waiting for you. Fortunately, our promotions are based on play in the casino and we can explain this to guests...sounds like Disney leaves their folks in the dark and it's a shame. But alas, just remember, don't shoot the messenger..marketing is the one that comes up with the promos and codes, not reservations.

When you get a PIN code from Disney, is it obvious in your mailing or do you have to hunt around the fine print to find it.

Meaning, I don't always read all the mail I get since a lot of it is junk. I received a mailing from Disney just yesterday and after a quick look at it , I threw it away.

My pin code came through an email from Disney yesterday. I won't be able to use it though, due to the timing. Check you email and you junk mail box for something from "Your Disney Travel Planner".

I received a pin code, and it was not for discounted rooms per se, it was the same basic package that they are marketing (family of 4, Value Resort, basic MYW tickets [no hopping, w/expiration, no dining) for under $1500, and they are also giving you $150 Disney Dollars. This is a decent offer, especially if you already had something in the works.

I agree wholeheartedly with MrMouseFan. Can you imagine what this past week was like for the poor CMs at CRO? I work in IT software developement and support, and when we drop new code, it's hell, so I can only imagine what the CRO call centers were like.

So, is that what the pin codes are for this time around... the weeklong stay and an extra $150 Disney Dollars? Just wondering if they have any like last year where you get a specific amount deducted from your room rate.

My code was 65.00 for a value and 88.09 for a moderate ROOM ONLY which includes tax. I did not receive an email nor snail mail. I was informed when I was placing my ressie that I had a room only code that could apply up to 10 nights and ended July 4th. I made my ressie for July 1-17 and was able to receive the whole trip at the discounted rate of 88.09 a night because I had at least July 4th booked. The way it was explained to me was I had to have at LEAST July 4th booked so I did and added days afterwards and recieved the whole thing for the 88.09 a night. There were a few diff kind of codes. The ones for april I believe were for the 150 or was it 125 disney dollars if you booked the 6n/7d 1500 value or 1800 mod deal they were doing. I did receive that email from " Your disney travel planner" but since I wasnt planning on going in april nor doing a package deal as I always book room only and tickets seperate when I have a code as it is always way cheaper that way. I didnt receive another email from " Your disney travel planner" other then one recently telling me it was time to figure out my dinning plans ??. It seems like alot of people didnt receive the email or postcard discounts for many reasons....lost mail or spam blockers. Seems almost all are finding out by calling that they actually do have a code and it seems to be linked to your email address. If you switched email addresses you could have one linked to your old address and that is why you havent received it yet. My advice would be to call and ask if you have the room only discount code that ends July 4th. 65.00 value....88.09 mod and some deluxes are 156.00 a night. Cant hurt to call and find out. If I hadnt called I'd never had known.

Good luck to all
sending pixie dust for luck :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

This may have already been asked, but are the new pin codes good for further out than July 4?

I got excited when I saw this post too, but this was originally posted on 3/10/05. I don't think there's anything new yet :(

Thanks for pointing that out, weluvpluto. I was getting very excited and ready to call CRO in the morning!
