OT: Radiant Barrier

This is completely OT but I thought I would check in with you guys regarding this issue. We live just outside of Fort Worth, Texas where it is HOT! We just got a quote on having radiant barrier installed in our new home (we have lived here almost 2 months). Has anyone had this installed or might be able to give me an opinion of if it is worth it?

I have heard a bunch of stuff about it but have never seen it actually installed.

Would like to know as well.
