I have decided to purchase 100 points for an Epcot resort! I was SOLD on Boardwalk-- but I do not know much about Beach Club.

Without further ado: which do you prefer, and specifically, why?

Thanks so much!❤

This is the Camping at Disney World forum.

You probably should request the mods to move this to one of the DVC DIS forums.

Good luck!

So 100 DVC points is like, what, $75,000 these days?

    :confused3

Swirl, good luck, seriously, and come back and visit us on the Camping Forum when you can. We're like you except we take our DVC with us on the road WHEREVER we go. We like sleeping in our own bed on vacation all the time no matter where we are. It's a great way to travel.

My DD worked Custodial at Boardwalk near the Epcot IG during her Disney College Program time last year. Nice place and it has DVC.

The Boardwalk Villas have a lower point cost for standard views, which I consider a bargain, and they are quickly booked at 11 months. However there are no dedicated two bedrooms, so even if you get a two bedroom, there are only two real beds, one a king, one a queen,

The Beach Club Villa points are more expensive and the points cost are higher than standard at BWV. However, you have Storm Along Bay which is a terrific pool complex IMO.

I own at both for the above reasons.

Walking to Epcot is priceless, and walking or taking a boat to DHS is also a plus!

My personal preference is BWV. Stayed at BCV once and it was OK, but I get the feel of Disney more at BWV. I love the close proximity to two parks, walkable with either. As Bobbi says, standard views at BWV are less in pts, which is great at 11 mos mark.

If you drive, parking your car is so much easier at BCV (and nearer to the villas) than at BWV. Plus, there are times of the year when you can't even get a parking place at BWV.

BUT.....you can walk very easily to Hollywood Studios from BWV. Your post made me LOL. I would much rather chill out at the campgrounds if I did not have so much $$ invested in DVC.

I’m a BWV fan- the std points are priceless and you can’t get these rooms easily unless you’re an owner. Love the resort, the pool, the location.

Stayed at BCV to see what the fuss is about. I don’t get it, but to each his/her own. Stormalong bay was fine but since my kids don’t love pools it swimming (we lived in a high rise with an indoor lap pool and they hated it), BCV and the storm along bay isn’t the best draw for us.

Std rooms are awesome, but I’m huge on value...

We chose BWV for all the reasons stated above, walk to EP and HS, standard view rooms. We have stayed in many of the other DVC resorts, including BCV, twice. The only thing I didn’t like about BCV was walking through the lobby to get to Stormalong. May sound like a silly thing, but it seemed weird to me. I’m sure there is a work-around for this, but I think this was the most direct/easiest route.

My wife and I recently had a similar Beach Club vs. BoardWalk debate. Overall, my takeaway is that BoardWalk is more accessible at 7 months for any member. Beach Club, however, is becoming increasingly more difficult for non-owners to get into. For that reason I can understand why purchasing Beach Club would make more sense (...even though I love BoardWalk more...).

My husband and I are on opposite sides of this debate, which means that BWV wins (my favorite)!

I love the BW area, both as adults and with kids, love the views and food access and easier access to DHS (we have walked from both BWV and BCV). Plus I feel like the BCV are like the crazy woman kept in the attic in the Victorian novels...

The major thing that kept us from buying BWV was the fact that there are no dedicated 2BR. (And 2042 end date, but since you're considering BCV v BWV, you are ok with it.)

BCV rooms have no real views.
SAB is the best pool at Disney.
BCV apparently has crazy Victorian women in the attic, how can that be bad?????
Harder to get at 7 months than BWV (generally)

    Boardwalk is more lively.
Parking lot for boardwalk might as well be at Universal.
    Better room values.
    Creepiest pool at DIS.
    Much better views

Another BCV lover here. And I don't like swimming or pools, so SAB has nothing to do with it. However, I love the more relaxed vibe I get, the music, the fact that I can get to B&C without getting wet whereas at BWV, I can't get to any QS without getting wet if it's raining, and since I prefer Epcot to DHS, the nearness of Epcot is a big plus.

Forgot about this one. You don't have to endure the all day pool parties with loudspeakers when you are trying to take a nap in the afternoon at BCV. The themed pool is closer to BC than BCV (only Dunes Cove pool, the leisure pool is close to BCV). Luna Park with the parties is right outside almost half the villas at BWV.

I booked a stay at BWV to check them out-- now I just need to find a contract that is between 100-125 points. Haven't seen one yet, and I'm checking 9 sites!😅
