I would also check https://touringplans.com/disneyland-resort/crowd-calendar# in about a month. Right now it only goes up to the 10th December but keep an eye on it and it will give you another view point.

I am still on the fence about going when it is so busy. I really want ot go and since we will have no children or elderly with us, I think we should be ok. We will be deciding this week.

It's good that you've got no kids, etc. That will help. It was busy enough that I would get MaxPass. Early starts are essential - not sure if you are an early bird but I definitely would be that week and take advantage of rope drop. It was definitely less busy that it would have been a week or two earlier, but I remember thinking it was still pretty busy, so not for the extremely crowd averse.

Could you do Vegas and DL? We do a big loop that includes both and I love that.

That would be fun but I don't have enough vacation time to do more than a couple of days. Maybe we will do both next year when I become an empty nester yay: shhh!!) and have more time.

Someone on this thread suggested Saturday instead of Sunday because of the AP blackouts. In order to see all the holiday entertainment, we would need to go Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks! I am thinking of doing both. We have to discuss our vacation but I think if we could get to the parks early and use the MP, we could get a lot done. If we get tired of the crowds, we can head back to DTD and visit the other two hotels.

Any time you can go to disneyland (busy or not so busy) is better then when you can't be there

Have a great time!! My DD16 is SW obsessed, I am going to have to try and find a way to divert her attention because I know she will want to go during opening weekend, little does she know we are planing on going to see it in DTD on one of our off days .

Thank you so much! It looks like Thursday would be better than Sunday, but not by much. I will have to weigh that against the extra holiday entertainment (it would mean having separate nights to do F! and the fireworks, as opposed to both on Friday).

So I just looked at the Christmas parade schedule once things switch to Holiday season. Just 1:00 and 3:30 most days. Some days just 3:30. Very disappointing they aren't doing an evening run of the parade with PTN still gone. It ran at night for years before, even with PTN running.

I've been looking at the same thing. Makes no sense to me, but what do I know? I sure loved the night time run of the parade though. Something special about all the lights.

I noticed the parade was only during the day as well. So will it snow on Main Street during the daytime parades? I think I have only seen pictures of it snowing during the parade at night.

Check the date. It was probably from a prior year. Last year they only did daytime runs, except for the one day in mid-November when Small World was having a special event and altered the schedule. I know we saw it in 2013 and 2014 in the evening, and it really is a much more magical experience.
