Official 2019 HHN-29 Thread

Somehow I missed this. Going again this year. I will probably buy a private RIP Tour again. Can't wait! I only have 3 nights, Th-Sat, first weekend in October. So, I will probably get the BOGO again and an AP discounted Sat ticket.

I was gonna do the bogo offer but decided to wait for FF passes to come out we will be at Universal for 5 night and of those 5 nights HHN is going on every night and we would like to go at least 4 out of those 5 nights with express pass. Does anyone know when those passes would be announced?

Typically July-ish

My family is looking at one of the last 2 weeks in September to go to Universal and HHN would be going on during the Wednesday and Thursday we are there. How will HHN affect our vacation? Will we still be able to do all the regular rides until normal park closing hours? Is HHN in a separate section that won't affect us? I looked at some videos of HHN and it looks like its mostly just people in costumes/makup jumping out at you nonstop which seems like it would get old and not be worth the money for my family? I watched 30 minutes of video on youtube and that is all it seemed to be mostly just different haunted houses but pretty much the same thing? I'm not putting down haunted houses I enjoy going to one but this seems like it would take up too much of our time/money and watching the videos it seems like it would get old fast. All info is greatly appreciated thanks!

It won’t affect you at all.

The Studios are open till 5pm on HHN days,.....

You will be able to do all rides before they clear the park for the event to start. IOA is usually open till 8 or 9pm on those days.

During regular park hours, it will not affect you at all. IoA is not involved. The Studios is where HHN takes place. In the Studios, during the day, you will notice some Halloween stuff out, but most of it is under covers or backstage. Studios will close at 5:00 on HHN days, but you can ride late in the day (I wouldn't chance riding a "must-do" ride after 4:30).

Just some FYI about the event... It is a separate ticket event, so everyone needs a HHN ticket (and express pass [which is not the same as the daytime express passes free with some on-site hotels] if wanted [and yes you do want if you go]). At 5:00, all daytime guests are escorted out of the park, unless you show you have a HHN ticket, and then you would go to one of the holding areas (so you don't have to leave the park and re-enter). Once everyone is out, the event begins. There will be 10 world-class haunted houses throughout the park. They are located in the big soundstages behind Rip Ride Rocket and Jimmy Fallon, erected "tents" behind Kid Zone and Men in Black, and the redundant Shrek theater. Aside from the houses, which are the main attractions, there are five scare zones throughout the park. Those are themed areas on the streets with sets and roaming scare actors. Universal suggests ages 13+ but it is just a suggestions as many families bring children younger than 13. That leads to mixed results, so people need to know how their children will handle the event. If your family love Halloween (on the scarier side), then I suggest you read through the HHN threads from previous years. It might be your thing, but obviously the event is not for everyone.

I didn’t realize this thread was up yet, yay! I’ll be there the 13th-15th with my friend Samantha, & the 18th to 20th with Josh. (More HHN than ever before! I’m very excited). I’ll probably do EP one night with each of them.

I’d also love to sneak in a trip for Fri & Sat of opening weekend because I get a 3 day weekend that week :scratchin but since it’s the week before that trip I’m not sure if we’ll be able to.

Link on first page of thread, follow it, i’m Sure it will have the announcement date from last year to give you a general idea of when passes were released.

Will say I did receive one of those ‘top secret, we’ll take your first born kid away if you squeal” surveys re HHN tickets. Let’s just say it offered many more options than i recall vs the same survey from last year.

It’s probably of the throw everything at the wall to see what sticks type of thing but, will say, it would be nice if they follow thru on some of the options.

PS my lips are sealed, no PMs

I got the same "ssshhhhh, secret survey" LOL. I liked a few of the options as well. Only time will tell what they will actually do with all the survey results.

I got the survey too. There were many options that would work for us, but if one of those options is not available, then I don't know what we'll do. We only have one option to visit, and we like to go 3 (preferably non-Fri/Sat) nights. I guess we'll know in 3 short months when the BOGO ends lol.

Not going to hold my breath but it’d be nice if they’d release the regular tix options before the BOGO goes poof.

Talk about a worst-kept secret lol
well apparently it's still a secret :P as I didn't get the survey :rotfl: I did get a "unique offer code" for Universal though...Is that usual? I used to get those often from Disney (until I showed up 8 times within a year).
