I am staying at the Pop Century so I may leave a bit before 3 to make sure that I get there in time. Thank you so much for your help.

I’m staying at Pop as well. I always try to be at the bus stop NLT 2:45. In my experiences, the buses have always been there and are loading, this way they can leave right at 3am.

Even on the earliest bus, you may be hard pressed to meet all the characters. Darth Vader can have a 45 minute wait that never gets better. If you're only running one race, I would make one character the priority and get in that line first thing. Meet other characters as time and line permits afterwards. Keep in mind that this is not like a meet and greet in the park where they will cut the line off. Last year the characters left at 5:00am even though later corral runners were still in line. If you're running multiple races, you can always split your meets over multiple races. Last year the same characters were out before the 10K and the Half.

I am doing the First Order Challenge so if it is the same as last year I can get the characters that I missed the first day on the second day. Thank you so much for all your advice. Do you know what time the characters are set up for the photo ops?

I'll also add that if the 501st is out on the 10K and half courses again, as they have been previous years, they provide LOTS of opportunities for character pics with minimal or no waits. My favorite part of the DS races!

Very cool! Still love the 3 medals I'm signed up for and I booked my flight yesterday, so it's really happening now. Just 2 months away!!

Is that a little tiny movable ship on the Virtual Half medal? Edit - I just looked at some other photos of the medal online and the ship is in a different spot so I guess it does move, I didn't realize that until just now. That is fun!

I've been waiting for people to post new photos of the Dark Side medals from this Expo, so thanks for those pictures. After seeing the medals, I think I like the 5K medal better than the 10K medal now. My favorite Dark Side medal is still the challenge one especially with the distances on it.

The more I see the virtual medal, the more I decide that it's my favorite medal from this year's Star Wars medal. I love the X-Wing on it. So very cool.

I believe so. I just looked at a photo of my Kessel Run medal from last year and the medal itself is identical. The ribbon from last year does say 2017 on it and it also says Disneyland which this year's ribbon does not for obvious reasons.

This is very true and they offer a lot of different characters also. Last year I got a photo with Rey over by the boardwalk and an Imperial TIE Fighter pilot near Epcot among others. Keep in mind though that the 501st characters probably will not have a photographer with them so make sure to bring your own camera. It's also possible that 501st characters will not be the same as the characters Disney has at the staging area before the start who then move to the finish line.

They have a sign up station at the Expo with bibs for 10k, half, and challenge right now. Just signed up my DD for the 10k
