Nintendo Switch - Help?

Thinking of getting this as a family gift - what do I need? Is one "package/system" enough for 3/4 players or do you need additional controllers like with other game systems.

Any game recommendations or other help would be greatly appreciated!

3-4 players needs another set of joy cons.

We really get a lot of use from the joy con charger too.
