I've copied this info from the TPaS board...thanks to yulilin for posting it.....

Walt Disney World Resort is introducing a special, add-on service associated with the park-hopper ticket called Express Transportation. This new option enables Guests with park-hopper tickets to travel more conveniently than ever between theme parks by whisking them from inside one and transporting them straight into another.

After initial entry into a theme park, Guests will be picked up and dropped off by Disney buses from directly inside the parks. By traveling between backstage locations, Guests can spend even more time experiencing the magic with their families.

This feature will be available when purchasing Park Hopper tickets online or upgrading at Vacation Planning or Guest Relations. For single-day service, Express Transportation can be added onto a Park Hopper ticket for $15 per person. For multi-day service, it is $24 per person.

Express Transportation is available at all four Walt Disney World theme parks from 10 a.m. until park close beginning Dec. 7.

How does it work? Express Transportation is a new transportation option that provides Guests with faster access when traveling between our theme parks. After initial entry into a theme park, Guests can board a Disney bus which will take them directly to another theme park.
By traveling between backstage location, Guests can spend even more time experiencing the magic inside our theme parks.
How can Guests get Express Transportation? Guests may add this option at Vacation Planning and Guest Relation locations throughout property as well as at the new Express Transportation kiosks in the four theme parks. For single-day service, Express Transportation can be added onto a Park Hopper ticket for $15 per person. For multi-day service, it is $24 per person.

Where will Express Transportation pick up and drop off Guests?
• Magic Kingdom Park
o Onstage kiosk location – near the exit of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland
o Backstage location – Park 1
• Epcot
o Onstage kiosk location – East of Spaceship Earth
o Backstage location – Eastgate bus loop
• Disney’s Hollywood Studios
o Onstage kiosk location – Adjacent to the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard
o Backstage location – Behind “The Twilight Zone” Tower of Terror & Sunset Showcase
• Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
o Onstage kiosk location – Near FotLK walkway, by Tusker House
o Backstage location – Vehicle Maintenance parking lot

How often will Guests be picked up? When will it start and stop each day? Guests will be picked up every 30 minutes. Service will begin each day at 10:00am Service will conclude at park close each night.
Will Guests be in backstage areas by themselves? No. Whenever stepping into a backstage area, Guests will be escorted by a Guest Relations Cast Member. Similar to the way we currently operate our VIP Tour Services and other experiences, Express Transportation will allow Guests limited access backstage with an escort. This includes no Guest photography in backstage areas.
Is this service available for Cast Members with Main Entrance Passes and Annual Passholders? Cast Members and Annual Passholders may purchase the single-day service for $15 or the multi-day service for $24 (valid for seven consecutive days from day of sale).

I'm putting this info out there, because it is a service that Disney currently offers. But...it hasn't been make permanent at this point. Nor is there much advertisement on-site. In fact, many people have complained that they never saw anything at WDW telling them about this. I have a feeling that Disney is keeping it somewhat low-key for a bit. So, stay tuned for any developments. If anyone hears of things changing, please let us know. It would be nice to keep this info current.

Slightly related, if we book with free dining (and thus have to buy full price tickets), would we be able to upgrade to APs on arrival and then add the expres transportation for $24?

Edit: it looks like I misread. The price seems like it's available for the $24/7 days for everyone.

As long as you have the ability to park hop, you can buy the express transportation! So a park hopper as well as AP gets that done for you!!

I'd add in a note on the times that they say these are subject to change so double check the times to confirm they are still using that schedule. While they have used the same one for a while now it can change.

Also, it can be purchased at the resort. We bought ours there and they had a flyer out to advertise it, along with a map that shows all the pick up locations. If you purchase there you can pay with the credit card on file but if you purchase at the parks it is credit card only. I only needed to make the purchase for it to be valid for both DH and I, he didn't have to go to the counter too

Did you end up paying the per person price, or was buying it for yourself enough for both you and your husband?

I think folks off site are having a harder time knowing about it for sure. As an onsite guest we got an email telling us about it. It was included on our arrival info email. And there were flyers at the resort. What I haven't seen them doing is giving out a flyer when someone buys a PH ticket at the gate. So if you aren't on site I do think it's hard to know about it

How does this compare to the standard transportation? We (Me, Wife, 6 y.o., 4 y.o, and 2y.o.) are going to be at the parks in 2 days, and were planning on a few half day splits. Is it worth the extra money and/or does it actually save you time and convenience?

Since they pick you up inside a park and drop you off inside another park, you save walking time and bypass the security checks at a park entrance. I suspect it may be about an hour savings.

Since I have stamina issues and tend to be stuck back at our resort because of those issues I sprung for this extra. Boy was it ever convenient!
Normally my body would just about give out by just getting myself in to the front gates of the parks so bypassing this was a highlight for me.
Also I carry medicines and medical assistance items in various pockets and/or backpacks or purses and it can be a royal pain repacking everything in the right order after having gone through security at the front gate. Bypassing the front gates at the parks saved my sanity!
My husband has plenty of stamina so he didn't have the Express bus pass. More than once we timed the difference between our transportation use, him on the regular trans and me using the Express.
The minimum time saved was a bit over an hour but depending on where you were you could easily have almost 2 hours time difference!

I loved the service and felt more relaxed using it and saving my energy for inside the parks.
I give the service high marks and sure hope they continue it!

My friend and I will be getting it next month. The security lines are just too long, especially now that just about everyone has to go through addtl screening after bag check. I can do it quickly since I have my very small bag unzipped and open, and my pockets emptied into that small bag, before I get to bag check. But, with the backpacks people bring, and then those that forget to empty their pockets, it seems to take forever to get through. Not only is it time consuming, it makes me a bit cranky!!

FYI the AK was in a different location today
My pic won't upload - it was at corner of Tusker House near the Lion King showtime board

I have just edited the stops to show the changed area for AK. We used this in March...it was a wonderful thing!!!!

I will be doing a water park in between 2 different parks ea. day... I assume in order for this express plan to work for us, I'd have to go to water park 1st (unfortunately opens at 10 am instead of 8am EMH for 6 of 8 days). We are also using an older park ticket and purchased a matching 8 day PH + option from Park Savers. Both assigned on MDE ok. Can we still upgrade for the $24-29 per person for the 8 days at resort for that price or have to upgrade at guest relations for something more to account for the cheaper tickets.

I read this several times and I'm not certain I grasp what you are asking.
I'll try to take a stab at what I think but I apologize if it's not answering your question. The thread PP posted may be a good option to read as it covers much more than this thread does
The multi day price is $29. There is no $24 price. The cost was increased. The only other option is the single day option. That's it. Single day/7 day. 2 choices.
It's only available for 7 straight days. It's not like tickets with 7 uses, it's 7 straight days. So, as an example, you can't use it 3 days, take a day off in the middle and pick back up and keep using it for 4 more days, it would only be valid for 3 more days.
And it's the same option no matter where you buy it, the resort, guest services, ticket office or Express counter. The only thing that changes is how you can pay for it.

Thank you, I apologize for the confusion. I wanted to know if
1) I could do this upgrade at all, since I did a room only reservation with adding an older ticket for me (would I pay $29 + have to pay a lot to upgrade the ticket to current prices like you do when you add days or PH to an old ticket) and an official broker ticket for wife from Park Savers (or can only tickets from Disney directly be upgraded).
2) If we can do the upgrade, would we have to do upgrade at Guest Relations vs. resort concierge because tickets are separate (since room only reservation)?
3) Originally going to go to water parks mid-day between 2 different parks ea. day to use our plus options and because we have almost all EMH am (8am) vs. 10am opening for water parks during our stay. Because it sounds like Express Transport doesn't go to water parks, I think you could either only go to water park 1st thing in am (lose the early 2 hrs) and park hop later or be willing to skip water parks on certain days. Just trying to figure out if this is a good option at all with the Plus option.

Where you buy your tickets doesn't matter. A package doesn't matter. You just have to have a hopper ticket. If you have a hopper, you can buy the Express bus option from any location that sells it
And no, it doesn't go to the water parks so they don't factor in to the Express bus in any way

ETA - one thing that may help, this is not a ticket upgrade. So don't think of it like that. It's a service you can purchase if you have a park hopper ticket.
