Hi All.

My name is Sara, and I just found these boards! So excited to find such a great resource.

My family and I are heading to the GC on the 27th of this month for 4 nights. We are staying on the concierge level. Booked through WD travel, but I was disappointed in the lack of specific information they provided about what you get on that level other than "continental bfast" and movies. Can anyone share their personal experiences? What types of food/snacks do they serve? What types of services are provided that you don't get in standard rooms? Any tips on getting the most out of it? I am really nervous about the trip. Don't want to expect too much, but need to know what's coming! Thanks for all your help and advice in advance.

We love staying Concierge at the GC. They have a great continental breakfast with fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, breads, muffins etc. Then, later in the day they have 'tea' or something with small sandwhiches (pb&j as well as other selections) I think there was more fruit and vegetables. You can of course take water or milk or soda to your room. Then later there is wine and cheese with small sandwhiches, vegetables, cheese and crackers, wine, soda etc. Then there is storytelling for the kids (but I go whenever I can, it is a crack up) and they serve the really big cookies. And then I think they have a later thing with different liquors, such as Grand Mariner, Kaluha, Baileys, oh there are more but I can't remember them. Served with cookies and other goodies. Plus coffee, hot chocolate etc.

When we were there last year in Early December, the Carolers would come up to the Concierge lounge during wine and cheese time and seranade all of the tables. It was wonderful.
It has been a while since I've been. Someone else may have more details than I have put here. ALso, I may still have a flyer that tells about the different opportunities and activities the concierge level offers. I think they will get you ps for the restaurants and maybe even ps seating for the parade, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Enjoy! We always enjoy staying at the GCH, even if we're not on the concierge floor.

Oh, and welcome to the Dis, Sara!

We stayed concierge at the Grand in October and LOVED it! Here is what I wrote in my trip report:

When we arrived, someone from concierge was there to greet us. They took us up to the 6th floor and while I checked in, the cousins and Des were taken to the lounge. Check in was fast. Our room was not ready, but they would call my cell and let me know what room it was when it was ready. Our keys were already activated so we could just go to the room when it was ready! I joined the others in the lounge. Wow, what a spread!

Breakfast (6:30am-10am) bagels and cream cheese (butter, jam, and peanut butter too!), fruit, muffins, croissants, cereal, milk, coffee, juice, soda, and water.

Tea time (11am-4pm) three different kinds of little sandwiches, fruit, cookies (they were delicious), chocolate covered strawberries, cranberry/orange Mickey shaped scones, coffee, tea, soda’s, water, etc…

Wine & Beer time (5pm-7pm) veggies, pb&j for the kids, cheese and crackers, and one hot item (mini quiches, crab cakes, etc…)

Milk & cookie time (8pm-10pm) milk, cookies, and various desserts

All day long – water and soda

I'm looking forward to the GC concierge from Feb. 18-22. I am Grandpa and I think with all the "free" food for the kids and grandkids, the two concierge rooms might actually save me money!

We were checked in at the guest services desk in the lobby, then the bell desk CM escorted us to out room.

The lounge had DVDs that you could check out. The concierge staff at the desks outside the lounge had binders with the DVDs they had; if I recall they let you take 2 at a time.

During the fireworks they pipe in the music and the view is pretty decent from their balcony.

When we were there in July they had one computer with internet access you could use; believe it had a tiny sign asking users to limit use to 15 mins. It is to the left as you walk into the lounge.

There were board games and books in the closets that are on the left as you walk into the lounge.

I'll be staying there in February. I'd enjoy any additional info. :Pinkbounc
