Nassau port - Atlantis?

We'll be on the Oasis of the Seas next year and docked in Nassau from 8:30am-3pm. Since our time in port is brief, we'd just like to get lunch but would also like to see or get close to Atlantis just to check it out. Not interested in swimming or getting a pass there. It's my understanding that they won't allow people to wander the grounds (pool, beach, etc) without a day pass. If that's the case, how far will we be able to go at Atlantis? Just the casino? Can we dine there? Is it worth even taking a taxi or water taxi over there if we can't see very much? Let me know what you'd do. Thanks!

Last time I was there, that was the case. If you want an alternative thing to do, about three blocks from the docks there is a rum distillery. They have a number of rums and a pink sand filtered vodka. They also do tastings at their bar.

Thanks for the suggestion! Believe it or not, none of us are rum drinkers! Do you recall if you could still dine at the restaurants at Atlantis? It's my understanding there's some shopping around the Marina Village. Is it worth a trip over there or not much around?

You might be able to get over to Atlantis just for food. Never tired that. We didn't like it all that much. If you like Vegas you might like it. It had a very Vegas feel to it.

The shopping was better around the port. There is a huge stretch right by the port that's full of shops. There are also a bunch of places to eat. The Senor Frogs (I think that's what it was) was open air and gave you views of the docked ships.

We are in port in June 2017 (Allure) and I'm curious too. There is a segway tour of the city and it ends in a manage your own time beach break. PM me if you think that sounds interesting and I'll link you the site. It isn't through RCL but I thought it sounded fun and Segway is a new thing for my family so they might enjoy it. Compiling list of ideas to review with DH down the road. Kids are being suprised with this when we pull up to port so we need to think hard and choose wisely LOL and I don't like EVERY day being a lay on the beach day :)

I didn't think it was worth going over there just to walk around Atlantis. You really can't see anything except the casino and the shops. The most fun part of it was the boat ride over and back (about $5 pp). That was fun! I would have rather stayed on the ship there though.

When we docked in Nassau, we ate in one of the restaurants that are in a row. I think it was known as "fish fry's". We had a great meal! We walked there and stopped at a local beach and then continued walking to the restaurants. We then took a cab back.

if not interested in beach/swimming, a visit to Ardrasta Gardens may interest you. We had a great time there once when we had an early departure and couldn't do Atlantis.

We liked the Blue Lagoon beach day excursion. It was perfect for younger kids because the beach is shallow and sheltered.
