Day 4- MK continued
When I left off, we were once again heading back to AKL for a midday swim and nap. This day was evening EMH at MK 11pm-1am, so we wanted to be sure to get a good rest before heading back late in the evening. Our morning had been very productive and we hoped to finish up Fantasyland and Tomorrowland that night. Since it had once again started raining on our bus ride back to the hotel, we had to skip the swim. We got back to the hotel about 3pm, and headed to our room to nap. It took until about 4pm to get them to settle down enough to sleep, and I had my alarm set for about 7pm. Unfortunately, around 5:30pm, we were awakened by the severe weather app on my phone going off, announcing a tornado warning. They were giving exact locations using street names, but since we are unfamiliar with the area, we were uncertain if it affected us or not. By the time I could get the TV turned on to a local news station, we saw, that yes, the area of concern was right near us. And we could hear the wind and rain outside. Hubby jumped up and opened the balcony door to get our shoes inside. We had set them outside to dry after getting them soaked at Epcot the day before. Of course, they were drenched again before he could get them in. Luckily, when all the excitement was over, there was never an actual tornado spotted, only radar indicating the possibility of one. But after all that, no one was going back to sleep.
So, we hung out in the room and continued to at least rest a while longer. Finally about 730pm, we headed out to the buses. Along the way, we stopped in at the gift shop and browsed for a bit, and the girls did some pin trading. We had bought a bunch of pins on EBAY before our trip to
Disneyland last year and let the girls pick what they wanted to keep and what they wanted to trade. Up until this point they hadn’t really done much with them on this trip, and although they had fun with them, they were often too shy to approach cast members about trading.
We made it back to MK and took some photos in front of the train station about 810pm.
I had made us a Tinkerbell FP earlier in the day that was for 8-9pm, so we headed there next. There were only a few families in line, but Tink must have went on a break because we ended up waiting about 20 minutes.
After that, we headed on down Main Street stopping for some more castle pics
and ended up in the crowd waiting for Happily Ever After. We didn’t have plans to watch the fireworks tonight, we had planned to do it on our last night. But the girls wanted to stay and watch so we did. I think we ended up waiting about 20-25 minutes, and had a pretty good location in the hub. I didn’t try to take any pictures of the fireworks, and just enjoyed the moment. We were starving by this point, and the girls were getting whiny due to hunger, so headed over to Cosmic Ray’s since it was close by. Hubby and I got burgers and fries, the girls got chicken nuggets and fries, and everyone was happy again. I got us a FP for Tomorrow Speedway from 1030-11pm, but we still had a little time before that, so we headed over to the teacups. But first pictures…
Then we boarded our teacup for a dizzingly ride.
I had purchased the girls some unicorn glow stick headbands before the trip, so we took some time to put those on and headed to the speedway.
After that, we decided to head down toward Buzz, but the line was still pretty long. I believe it was posted at about 30-45 minutes. So instead, we took a leisurely ride on the Peoplemover.
We checked Buzz again after, and it was still posted about 30 minutes, and the girls didn’t want to wait that long. It was just after 11pm at this point, and since we didn’t get the long nap we had planned that day, we were all feeling tired. But we have always had a great time at MK evening EMH in the past and were determined to do so again. I didn’t really have any set plans for ride orders, so we could just be spontaneous in what we wanted to do. But I think all of us were so used to having a plan, that we just didn’t know what to do with ourselves. So after a few minutes of whining (from kids and parents), we set off Dumbo, as we figured the lines would be shorter by this time of night. I think we ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes since they one had one side operating. We were spinning in our elephant by about 1130pm.
Next we headed over to Barnstormer, and had no wait there. One ride was enough for me and hubby. I love roller coasters, but this one is so uncomfortable! But the girls rode about 2 or 3 more times as there was still no wait. Next, the girls wanted to go over and play in the Casey Jr splash pad, so we let them run through there for about 10-15 minutes. They didn’t want to get wet, so were just trying to time their runs through without getting sprayed.
Next we headed over to IASW. As I mentioned previously, this is the girls’ favorite ride. They had been asking to go on it all day, but I had wanted to wait until we could ride it without a FP with little wait. And we indeed had no wait. We had our own boat!
