MK closing at 6pm Thur-Sun Sept 6-9? [Solved, see Post #22]

It's a bit of a mystery. Before the MNSSHP dates were confirmed, there was speculation that some of those 6pm closings were for the Night of Joy coming back to MK. Now there's only a single night, so it can't be that (unless Disney is cutting NoJ to one night and moving it back to MK, which is probably unlikely). It might be a glitch that will resolve in a few days, or it might be a private event? I don't know how common those private events are, and it does seem to be pushing things to have MK closed early on 4 nights that first week of September (3rd, 7th, 9th for parties, plus the odd closing on the 6th). I've never heard of a CM-only MNSSHP, but they occasionally have CM events for things like employee recognition, service awards, etc.

Just FYI, MK closing has been changed to 9pm on Thursday 9/6 on Disney's website, so it seems like no more 6pm closing mysteries. Since the title of this thread and original question are misleading/outdated now that we have more facts, going to close.

Here is the conclusion as of today:

Thursday 9/6 - Originally posted as a 6pm closing but revised to 9pm
Friday 9/7 - 6pm closing, MNSSHP night
Saturday 9/8 - Originally posted as a 6pm closing but revised to 9pm
Sunday 9/9 - 6pm closing, MNSSHP night
