Yet, another reason we love DisneyWorld!!!:santa:
This was our first year to visit Disney at Christmas. The only picture I told my family I HAD to get was a good shot with Mickey for our Christmas card photo. We weren't having alot of luck until the morning of December 13th. We were in Animal Kingdom and went over to the Charachter Greeting Trail to see Mickey. We got there about 10 minutes before the lines opened at 10am. We were first in line with only a few people behind us.

A Dream Team Member came up to us and asked us about our trip. I told him I had my heart set on getting a picture with Mickey for our Christmas cards.
He said "How would you like a private photo shoot with the whole gang?" That meant Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy in his Santa outfit!!! We were thrilled to say the least. He took us to Mickey's area and all the charachters came out and we got some great shots. We also got an autographed certificate for our dream come true.

Then the castmember asked us if we would like to be in the "Jingle Jungle Parade" that afternoon. What a fantastic day! We got hats and vests to wear and were put on a float right behind Minnie Mounse. They even took a few photos of us with a disposable camera and then gave my son the camera to finish taking pics during the parade.

I don't think there is any way to know if you will be picked, but the castmember who approached us commented on the fact we were all wearing red shirts (that Christmas card thing) and looked festive.

Also during our trip we got a free souvenir popcorn bucket with popcorn at a snack stand for naming 3 charachters from Toy Story. And we got escorted to the front of the Star Tours line (there was a 30 mintue wait) by Darth Vader and 2 stormtroopers. We were the last in line for photos and the castmember with the charachters asked us if we were going to ride and when we said "yes" she said I think I can help you out. So after our photos the trio escorted us with their blasters to the front of the line. Very fun for our family since we're all Star Wars geeks.

So if you're going to Disney this year I think you've got a good chance of having at least a little dream come true.

So COOL for your family. We are going in February and all our son can talk about is Star Tours. He says that will be his first ride. He would be thrilled to see the star wars men or have anything like that happen to him. I'm hoping we'll get as lucky as you but won't count on it either. Glad you all had a great trip. Hoping ours will be also.

Sorry I didn't put pics with the first post. I'll get them up later today with a little help from my husband.

Lynn, you are so lucky you're getting ready to go. Feb should be great for crowds.

I don't think you will have any trouble getting some pics with Darth Vader and the two stormtroopers. They were outside the ride several times during the day.

If you want to see if you'll get the escort to the front of the ride line, just see if you can be last in line for the photos. I would think that when the dark-side guys are calling it quits that have to head into the building anyway so they just escort a family back with them and take them to the ride. If it fits your schedule you might give it a try. If not, you get your pics anyway.

Also, look to the left of the front of the Star Tours ride building and get a photo of your son on the speeder that's set up under some trees. It makes a fun pic especially if you do a little work in photoshop.
I'll ask my husband to post that as well.

Here is the photo with Mickey etc. that we used for our Christmas card photo.

The easiest way to do that is to open up a free account with Photobucket. :thumbsup2

My husband would have died if we got the chance to be escorted to the front of Star Tours by Darth Vader. He's such a huge star wars fanboi. Talk about a dream come true!

Mickey Mania, soooo coool pictures. Our son will be so excited if we get that lucky. I think I'll keep it a surprise just in case we don't see them. My son and his friend on the bus are planning on making the next star wars movie. haha I can't wait until February!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again!
