Mandymouse’s A Carnival Splendor/Oasis of the Seas ...

Thursday 18th May

I had a better nights sleep and hadn't felt the ship leave Aruba at 12.30am. I was just catching up on my trip report when just after 8am it was announced that we had arrived in Curacao

We got up and went off for a jog around the running track, we then had our usual skinny lattes, showered then disembarked around 10am

DSC_5835_zpsliimq9jj.jpg

It was a lovely walk into Willemstad. We wandered past designer stores and a fort that had been converted into a shopping & bar area, next we walked alongside the river and you could see the colourful buildings on the other side of the river. It was lovely just walking along and taking photos. We then walked over the Queen Emma Bridge (a floating bridge) into the town

Once again this little town seemed mainly to cater for the upper end shopper from the cruise ships with all the designer shops. We took a nice walk around taking photos as we passed by

It was a very picturesque town, but we weren't really there to shop. We headed back to the bridge only to find that it was swinging back to the other side of the river as a tanker was heading towards it, and as no-one knew how long this would take, we decided to take the free ferry back over to the other side

Once back at the fort, and because it was now 30c we stopped off at a bar for some water, and something stronger as it was rude not too, so I tried a Curacao Island Sunset cocktail (Mmm) and Paul had a couple of lagers, and we sat chilling and chatting to a couple we’d ran into several times on the ship

Once back onboard we grabbed some lunch and as the line for the Mongolian Wok was quiet, we had a chicken noodle dish freshly prepared for us and it was delish

We spent the afternoon sunbathing and at 4.30pm we watched as the Splendor left Curacao, then we had a couple of drinks at the Serenity Bar

We got showered and ready for dinner. I had chicken tenders to start which I'm sure would've been nicer if they’d just been a bit warmer, and Paul had some sort of ham dish. For our mains we both had lasagne with a side of ratatouille which was very nice

We spent the rest of the evening chatting to May the server at El Mojito who had made the amazing Martinis for us this week then we briefly popped to the casino

Tomorrow - Day at Sea

It sound like another lovely, relaxing day. Nice to see a different port, and somewhere new to explore a bit. :goodvibes Sometimes those short stops at port can make it a much more relaxing day because you don't have time to plan anything special. It sounds like it was a really relaxing day for a port day. :thumbsup2 The smoke in the casino would bother me I think. We avoided it when we were on RCI and it was easy to do that, but not when you have someone trying to win their life savings with you! :rotfl:

Sorry Jenny. I thought I'd replied to this before  We really enjoyed our short stops at the different ports. This time we didn't feel the need for excursions, and were quite happy for a little explore ::yes::

Mandy looking forward to reading your trip report of your and Paul's recent trippy ...

Thanks hun, hope you're enjoying it so far :)

Friday 19th May

We slept really well and didn't wake up till gone 9, which was some record for us. Paul said it was too late for a run as the track would be so busy (hmm, lame excuse:rotfl::rotfl:). So we leisurely got ready, Paul went off to see if there was a washing machine free, which there was, so I sent him off to put a few things on while I got ready

Next we went for a coffee then when the washing was done we popped it in the drier then went to find some loungers for a couple of hours. Once again it was lovely and warm but very cloudy with a nice sea breeze that made it comfortable to lie out in. I popped back to retrieve the washing from the drier then relaxed .. Ahh this is the life

For lunch we enjoyed freshly made chicken noodles from the Mongolian Wok again and cooled down with a cider and lager

As ever the time flew by. In the afternoon we took part in a Dr Who trivia quiz. It was lots of fun and we finished 2nd with 15/17, getting just the year Dr Who first appeared on our TV screens and the century in which Captain Jack Harkness was born. The Americans took it very seriously arguing that as TV's were in black & white in the 60's, that the Tardis was in fact black & white not blue :laughing:

C401D6CD-1ED9-4F0C-BA2D-FBEC23880E4E_zpsfz7bdacx.jpg

After the quiz we went to see Pat at the Serenity Bar and enjoyed a few drinks there chatting to some of the regulars that we'd seen each day. One guy who said he'd 'invented' a cocktail back home had Pat make it and gave it to me, it was actually very nice with lots of Peach Schnapps (yum!), and at one stage Paul was not impressed with Pat that his slice of orange in his Pirate Punch was missing .. Well Pat didn't let him forget that :rotfl2:

We chilled back at our room till it was time to get ready for dinner. It was another elegant night, so it was time to look a little less shabby ha. We had a Martini from May at El Mojito, then wandered down to the Black Pearl Restaurant where we were given a pager, which went off 20 minutes later while we sat in the lobby listening to the band

I had the stuffed mushrooms to start and Paul had a pasta soup, then for our mains, I had delicious Greek inspired vegetarian dish in filo pastry and Paul had steak & ribs, we both really enjoyed it all

We had a quick visit to the casino, but the smoke was giving me a headache so I popped back to the room for a Nurofen then sat at El Mojito chatting to May till Paul joined us. While Paul was in the casino, he’d ordered a drink and was given a receipt telling him he was on drink 13 for the day. As our limit is 15 per day on the Cheers programme, it was ‘challenge accepted’. He managed to reach his 15 limit at El Mojito (take a bow Mr M) and at gone midnight he decided he was feeling a bit peckish, so we headed up to the Lido deck for a cheeseburger and fries, then I think we were in bed around 12.30 .. He's going to suffer tomorrow ::yes::

Tomorrow - Day at Sea

Saturday 20th May

I woke up just before 8am after a reasonable nights sleep. It looked like Paul stirred half an hour later, but he drifted off again, I didn't have the heart to wake him and ask if he wanted to go for a run

First stop was the coffee shop for a skinny latte for me (Paul couldn't face one :rotfl:)

We then spent a lovely couple of hours in actual proper sunshine yay!! Which was fricking boiling too

At lunchtime we had more traditional American fare at the buffet, as in turkey with mashed yams and various delicious vegetable dishes, which was lovely

We had a cider and Stella at the aft pool bar then I needed to wash my hair and Paul wanted to wander the ship taking photos

When he returned I was about ready, so we began the sad task of packing

Next we went up to the Serenity Bar for a last cocktail or two with Pat :sad1:

We then got ready for dinner. We stopped off at El Mojito for a Martini each and said our goodbyes to May too

For dinner I had the Flatbread and Paul had the Beef Carpaccio, then for our mains I had Ricotta Ravioli and Paul had the Prime Rib

Tomorrow - Disembark the Carnival Splendor  Embark the Oasis of the Seas :yay:

Poor Paul, I bet he was feeling a bit under the weather but he did us pround finishing his 15 drinks. :thumbsup2 Got his money's worth. :rotfl2: A lovely relaxing cruise with lots of laziness and bit of touristy stuff thrown in too. Looking forward to the Oasis review though!

Never mind 'Poor Paul', he brought it on himself :rotfl2: Yes it really was a fun and chilled cruise ... now onto the Oasis of the Seas ... :boat:

Sunday 21st May

We'd had a letter the day before explaining the disembarkation process. As we wanted to try and be off as early as possible, we were doing self disembarking, where we would carry our own luggage off

The letter said the process would begin around 7.45am, so we set our alarm for 6am, with a view to be in the atrium by 7 and just wait with a coffee till it began

We both slept terribly as we waited for the alarm clock to go off. While I had a quick shower, Paul wandered down to the lifts to look down to the atrium to see how busy it was, and apparently it was very busy

Ten minutes later I was ready, so we left our room at 6.50am saying a quick goodbye and thank you to Joseph our room host

We took the lift down and entered onto an empty atrium. A member of crew quickly asked if we had an early flight, and as my nose grew I said yes, and within moments we were heading off the ship

The people Paul had seen earlier in the atrium were all now lined up at customs, but once again this was a breeze and we were getting into a cab at 7.10am. The taxi took the short ride to the car rental desk at Fort Lauderdale Airport, and other than us being unable to take the first car we'd chosen due to it not being able to be scanned, they quickly brought us another one, and once reloaded with our luggage we were on our way to Port Canaveral

Google Maps said we should arrive at Port Canaveral around 10.30, and once again the journey was uneventful and went quite quick

We weren't in any hurry to get to the ship as when I checked in I had chosen a 1-1.30 embarkation time, so we headed to Cocoa Beach first. We stopped at Wal-Mart but they didn't have the sun screen we wanted, then we found what we needed at a CVS, then our next stop was McDonalds as by now we were starving (yeah, as if, after a cruise!!). Luckily we had just ordered and were handed our food when their computer system went down and customers behind us had to be turned away. Phew! We really enjoyed that Big Mac Meal and Double Cheeseburger Meal

We then drove over to Ron Jon's and had a nose around, but didn't buy anything, then we drove up to Port Canaveral to see the Oasis of the Seas docked next to Grills Tiki Bar. Wow! She's huge!

DSC_5965_zpscwuwbd5m.jpg

We returned the car to Alamo at the port and took their shuttle to the Royal Caribbean Terminal. The terminal was very busy, but heading towards the first security check, a guy asked Paul how many were in his group and pulled us out, nice one. Once through security we had our room card photos taken, and we boarded around 1.10pm

Goodness, this ship is so big. We walked along the Royal Promenade taking it all in, there were restaurants, shops, bars etc and we enjoyed our first drink onboard at the On Air Bar

We were both so excited to be cruising on this ship. She has always captured our imagination since watching a Mighty Ships episode about her several years ago, and being my usual laid back self, my top ‘To Do’s’ onboard were the elevator bar and have a ride on the carousel on the Boardwalk

Once we realised our room would be open, we took the elevator up to Deck 14 and found our home for the next week. When we had seen these rooms on TV overlooking Central Park we knew we just had to stay in one and it didn’t disappoint, in fact it was LOVELY!!

After taking some photos of our room, we spent an hour or so generally getting lost and taking more photos, and I got to have a ride on the carousel (yay, first ‘to do’ done) then we returned to our room just before the Muster Drill where we quickly put our recently arrived luggage in our room

Our Muster Drill was being held on Deck 5 near the shops, so I really have no idea where the lifeboats are at present, so hope we don’t need to be aware of them just yet

After the drill we returned to our room and quickly emptied out our suitcases, then headed up to Deck 16 for sailaway

We had a drink at the Globe & Atlas English pub then got ready for dinner, which for us will be at The American Idol restaurant on Deck 3 which is for Anytime Dining

DD0BF4B1-974E-4CD8-A21A-E1E2A979C336_zpsvnurjglr.jpg

As we exited the room we met our stateroom host, Valencia, and had a quick chat saying we were happy for our room to be serviced just once a day, in the morning, but to just leave an extra towel or two, which he was happy to do. Anyone who knows me well would know that he wouldn't have much to do, just make the bed up properly as I tend to keep the place tidy (just call me Monica). I think I'm the type that if I had a cleaner, I would clean up before they arrived haha

Before heading to dinner I had found a letter in our room for Central Park Balcony Guests for a complimentary lunch at one of the pay to go to restaurants. We went down to Guest Services and after waiting 15 minutes in a huge line, we were told to just call in at the restaurant and make a reservation. So we called in at Giovanni's Table in Central Park and arranged lunch for 1pm tomorrow, then we headed to dinner

We both had the wild mushroom soup which was delicious and piping hot and then I had the Prime Rib and Paul had the New York Strip which were both lovely and to finish off we shared an apple pie a la mode. The food was really good and hot which was the only thing that tended to let Carnival down

Anyway after dinner we had a Martini at the Rising Tide elevator bar (2nd ‘to do’ done) which slowly goes from Deck 5 to Deck 8 which was fun to do. We paid a short visit to the casino to suss it out then finished the evening with one last drink at the Schooner Inn before heading to bed as we were both shattered

Tomorrow - Day at Sea

Monday 22nd May

I slept really well, the bed was so soft I just snuggled into it

I woke around 8am and Paul stirred half an hour later. We took a look at the lovely blue skies outside and decided to go for a sunbathe

We'd only lay out 1/2 an hour when the skies started to cloud up, then shortly after it began to drizzle then rain, so we took the lift down to the Cafe Promenade for a coffee

As we walked along the Royal Promenade a sale had began, everything for $10, and buy 4 things get one free, it was absolute madness like the Christmas sales in Primark .. honestly just because it's $10 doesn't mean you actually need to buy it :rotfl:

So we had a skinny latte each (which is included in our drinks package), and Paul had a couple of croissants and I had a bran muffin

We had a bit of a wander, then when it dried up we went back up to deck 16 to continue our sunbathe. Unfortunately that didn't last long either as it started to rain again, but as we would've needed to leave 5 minutes later to get ready for our complimentary lunch at Giovanni's Table, it wasn't a big deal

Our reservation was for 1pm and when we got there it was packed. It's a small intimate kind of restaurant, so the big group in there kind of made it lose its atmosphere, but hey it's a free meal

Now Paul isn't one to hide his true feelings, when he's disappointed about something it's written all over his face, and he wasn't impressed with the menu .. what no Lasagne??

So it took ages for our waiter to come over, then there was no Stella .. not even a Peroni or a Moretti .. So he settled for a Heineken

Then time to order from the Lasagne-less menu. We both had the soup, lentil I think, it was very tasty but just warm

AE660BF2-A970-472B-9E09-74EFEB2B5BEE_zpsqjvewods.jpg

Then I had a chicken dish to which Paul said 'I wish I'd ordered that', he had ordered a Spaghetti Bolognaise but there was lots of spaghetti and not much bolognaise

C14D8B5D-7DFC-4CAB-ADF8-679DF47A5817_zpsmsl6snvh.jpg

F459DE12-E560-4BA9-BE76-ECD09E105447_zpsb6wzgl47.jpg

When the waiter returned he asked Paul if he hadn't enjoyed his main to which he replied with a 'No, but it's what I ordered' ... Aarrgghh!! Get me out of here :rotfl2:

Thankfully dessert time was much better. I had a delish Tiramisu and Paul had the Panna Cotta which he enjoyed

5D0CAD8A-4411-459D-923A-78698A6EE9A1_zpsexdm8udd.jpg

The bill, which was zero came for us to sign and the pen that Paul was given was thrown down on the table as it didn't work, omg this was hilarious now, actually he didn't chuck it but it was the final straw

He wasn't impressed that I gave him the look that he'd better still tip the waiter or I'll make the rest of your day hell too, so he did so and we left

We wandered the Promenade and sat 'outside' the pub (which is obviously inside the ship ;)), and enjoyed a pear cider for me and a Stella for Paul

It was nice just people watching, but then the cruise staff started lining up chairs in front of where we were sitting, it was funny that people would sit on these chairs without knowing why they were lined up. We assumed they may have been there due to a Kate Spade handbag sale which was about to start next door

I don't think I've ever been on a cruise where shopping is in such focus. The day we boarded there had been The Grand Opening of the Regalia Luxury Watch store with champers etc, earlier today had been The Grand Opening of the Tiffany store, I'm sure people would go to The Grand Opening of an envelope as long as there was a discount on said envelope

Anyway after our drinks we went back on top deck as it had cooled down a little and people had gone to get ready for early dining and the first formal night. We enjoyed an hour in the sun and had a Woo Woo the drink of the day then went to the Sand Bar for what I can only describe as the best Piña Coladas we've ever had .. Wow! Look at that Rum float!! Well we had one more and we laughed about the disastrous meal that lunch time and I told Paul it was all going in my trip report haha

We chilled for a while in the room and had totally missed our early slot for our dining, oops!! While I got showered and ready for Formal Night, Paul went off to take some sunset photos from deck 16

It was gone 9 by now, but we thought we'd ask if we could get a table for dinner, though I didn't mind if we couldn't as I quite fancied eating pizza in my black dress, but a table was found and to start Paul had the antipasti (the best Italian food he'd had all day apparently :rotfl:) and I had the French onion soup yum!

We enjoyed an hour in the casino then it was time for beddy byes

Tomorrow - Day at Sea

Yet another flying start to your day to transfer over...who cares if you told a little porky to get off the ship faster. ;) It looks like that day went really well considering getting off one and onto another.

The ship looks beautiful and so much to do and see. At least you got your "must do's" over in the first day. ::yes::

I had to laugh at your experience in Giovanni's, or rather, Paul's experience - your's sounded much nicer. ;) :rotfl: At least he managed to survive the horror of it all. Lots of good drinking going on for your at sea day though. :drinking1 Good start to week 2!

We are venturing from Disney in a few months and will be trying Oasis, so I am looking forward to your review of the ship. I am already intrigued by your assessment of "the best" Pina Colada from The Sand Bar....love those things. .

We couldn't have disembarked one ship and got on the next one any better Jenny, it all went so smoothly (thank goodness) :)

The Oasis of the Seas really is a gorgeous ship and being on her was just as much a destination as the ports we stopped at ::yes::

I'm so pleased that I take the time to type up my trippy within a day or so as I know I'd easily forget some of those silly little memorable moments, and Paul can be so funny when he's having one of his 'moments' :rotfl::rotfl: Hopefully he'll be 'moment free' when we catch up on Friday, hope you and Scott have a good flight over :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see you

I won't lie, I thought I'd be a cruise snob after being spoilt on so many Disney cruises, especially the service onboard, but I soon learned that whatever kind of room you have (we started with verandahs on the Disney ships and moved onto inside staterooms), you realise that you pretty much only spend time in them to get changed and sleep. That whatever ship you're on, everyone is working hard for your tips, and that £1000 difference in a cruise cost can go a long way on a different cruise line ::yes::

You are going to love the Oasis of the Seas :sail: I know I can't wait to go back on again .. and as for the Pina Colada's, it's always fun to try and find the next best drink :rotfl:

Thanks for reading along and your comment hun :thumbsup2

Tuesday 23rd May

Again I slept well in this super cozy bed and woke around 8am, Paul stirred shortly after, to then turn over and go back to sleep

We got up around 9 and decided to go for a run (yes I still use the word quite loosely, more of a fast walk still). This track was great, it was on deck 5, was undercover, and went the full length of the ship. It took 2.4 laps to do a mile, so just under 5 to do our usual 2 miles

After our bit of exercise, we headed onto the Promenade Deck for a latte and bran muffin each then we went back to our room to shower and get ready for a lazy day

As I got out of the shower Paul told me about the awful events that had happened after the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. I was 99.9% sure my girls were fine and had been at work, but I still got Paul to pay for a days internet use so I could check in with them and see if my friends were ok. The girls got back to me quickly, so that was a relief, but what a terrible thing to happen, so sad :sad2:

We carried on with our day enjoying an hour or so in the sun till it was time to get some lunch. We went to a cafe in Central Park and enjoyed sandwiches, fruit cups and a bag of Lays each Mmm ... Lays

451F8E43-B7FF-42C5-963D-11C9BE32B496_zpsahhkjcv2.jpg

We had seen people carrying Mimosas, so went in search of one at a little outside bar again in Central Park and that one Mimosa turned into 1 Mimosa and two Bellinis each :rotfl:

We wandered decks 4, 5 & 6 then enjoyed another hour in the sun and a rum filled Piña Colada each

This evening we were going to watch the Aqua Show 'Oasis of Dreams' at the Aqua Theatre at the back of the ship. We got showered and ready for dinner then found some seats in the theatre and we ordered a drink from a passing waiter. The show was really cool with acts including high dives, acrobatics, trampolining etc, sadly I couldn’t get any decent photos with my phone

After the show it was time for dinner, we grabbed a wine and Stella and waited for a table to become free which was only a few minutes

Tonight we both started with the French Onion Soup

9B7D9EDF-FE42-4754-B35C-33A9ADDC14C0_zpsr8rp7xmc.jpg

Then for our mains, I had Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli and Paul had Roasted Pork Loin

Then we shared the Apple Pie a la Mode

1A684C85-F86C-44EB-B388-BA22A3B2D71F_zpsho1a5wzk.jpg

Once again we both enjoyed our meal

We enjoyed a Cosmopolitan each at the Rising Tide elevator bar (this is definitely my favourite place on the ship), then had a short visit to the casino (definitely one of Paul's favourite places ), then finished the night off with a Cosmo at the Schooner Inn

Tomorrow - St. Maarten

Wednesday 24th May

I hadn't had the best nights sleep and woke at 6.45am. I tried to fall back to sleep, but then the ship started making these cannon-like noises, I think it was probably the ropes being shot out towards the island, but the noise felt like it went on for too long. A while later the ship began to shudder and I guess we were manoeuvring alongside the dock

All ashore was around 8.30am, but we decided to let the masses disembark and we'd go for a run. We completed our couple of miles, then went for our lattes, muffin and croissant

We returned to our room, showered and got ready then disembarked. We took some photos around the port then went to find a taxi. In the past we have just paid for our one way trip to Maho Beach, but this time they wanted us to pay for a return trip upfront which cost $32. We were given a wristband each and once the minivan was full we were on our way

Once at Maho Beach we checked the board for the flight arrivals then settled at the Sunset Beach Bar for a cocktail or two. Now Maho Beach is famous for its airport runway being right by the beach. When the big KLM flights would come in, they would be so low to the beach, it was great to see. Unfortunately there were none of the larger planes due in before we would head back to Philipsburg, but we did see a few smaller planes and one biggish one. Anyway it's still fun to see them so close

Next we wandered the shops where I bought a Pandora Charm for Becky and Paul bought me a turtle one to put away for Christmas

We took the water taxi back to the ship and chilled in our room for a while to cool down then we went up to deck 16 for sailaway at 4pm

We had a Piña Colada at the Sand Bar then wandered around decks 4, 5 & 6 before getting ready for dinner while watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on the TV

We were seated straight away and once again I had the French Onion soup and Paul had the Smoked Chicken Breast to start

We didn't have room for dessert tonight so we wandered down to the casino for a while, had a Cosmo at the Rising Tide Bar then watched a bit of karaoke before heading to bed

Tomorrow - San Juan

Thursday 25th May

We had plans to get up early and go for a run. I hadn't slept well and as I catch up on yesterday's trip report at 7.29am, I'm absolutely cream crackered and thankfully Paul has just rolled over in bed and looks settled for another hour or so

The lazy git finally stirred at 9am. All ashore had began at 7/7.30am and as everyone needed to be back onboard for 2.30pm, we really didn't have much time to do anything, so we decided to get ready and go for a walk up to the fort

It was a lovely hot morning, already 28c as we walked up to Castillo San Cristobal. We paid $5 each to get in (I'm sure it was free the last time we were here), and we spent a relaxed couple of hours wandering around and taking photos

We had passed a Starbucks on our way to the fort and made the decision to call in on the way back, which we did and had a couple of skinny lattes and slices of lemon loaf (yum!)

We carried on walking around taking random photos along the way then got back in board

167689F9-4FF1-4F63-AFEF-C0B41328BE60_zpsfqxo2vas.jpg

We had lunch sitting in Central Park. I don't think I'll ever get used to sitting here and believing I'm actually onboard a ship

3B281DC8-59D5-4343-945A-3057FD9AA618_zps9g3slsxx.jpg

After lunch we had a couple of Mimosas at our favourite bar in Central Park (yes we have several favourite bars throughout the ship )

We then got ready for a lie out in the sun and sailaway

DSC_6181_zps0flavdz4.jpg

We enjoyed a couple of Piña Coladas at the Sand Bar, then left to get ready for dinner

Once ready we headed down to the Promenade where we noticed lots of people were dressed up and there were photo ops everywhere. Oops, it was another formal night and we hadn't read the memo :rotfl: We ordered a Cosmopolitan each at High Tide and decided we wouldn't go back to the room to change. We had a Mimosa from the bar in Central Park and a violinist was playing outside Giovanni’s Table, how very sophisticated

We didn't have room for a dessert, but had really enjoyed our meal and we had fun with the assistant server who was showing us some magic tricks

We briefly called in at the casino, but then the 70's night party was beginning on the Royal Promenade at 10pm, so we made our way up there. The party was lots of fun with appearances from 'John Travolta' and 'The Village People'

Tomorrow - Labadee, Haiti

Friday 26th May

I woke around 7.30am having slept well, and while I caught up with my trip report Paul woke only to say he'd had a bad night and felt like he was coming down with something .. Oh no!!

He took a couple of tablets then got back into bed

Arrival at Labadee was 9.30am with all ashore at 10. Paul woke around 9 then we got ready for our day on Royal Caribbean's private beach

We headed up to deck 16 and we were already docked and people were disembarking. It was a beautiful day and looking down, it looked lovely too

It was so hot as we walked down the pier, we were pleased we had brought some water with us. We didn't really have a plan other than walk right around the beaches taking photos and explore

We took the route to the left and wandered towards Dragon’s Plaza. We were greeted by locals who were dancing, juggling and singing with pots ready for tips. A lot of people had already got off, but there were plenty of loungers available. It was a little annoying that every several yards a local would ask if we needed loungers when there were lots already set up

We carried on round taking photos and took a rest at Adrenaline Beach, and found the Schooner Bar where we had the Island drink, a Labadoozie, which was like a strawberry slush with a large shot of Meyers Rum .. Mmm

Lunch was being set up behind the bar at Cafe Labadee and was due to open in 10 minutes (11.45am), so we hung about and enjoyed another Labadoozie

Lunch was the usual affair, burgers, ribs, chicken, salad, fruit etc. I wasn't particularly hungry, so just had a burger and rice, which was nice

After our lunch we continued on our walk. Next we came to a market where the locals had set up stalls, it was only a short walk through it to get to the next beach, but the hassling was too much. I'm really surprised that RCL allow this, but maybe they don't have any say in it. I get that Haiti is a very poor country and they're trying to make a living, but if you're casually walking through, you don't need to be yelled at 'to come and see what I've made'

A little while later I went in search for another Labadoozie, then once we'd had enough sun we wandered back to the ship

It really was a beautiful place, not quite Castaway Cay, Disney will always have the upper hand with their theming etc, but still a lovely place

Once back on board we chilled in the welcome air conditioning of our room and promptly fell asleep :rotfl:

We woke around 4pm and watched as we sailed away from deck 16

We had a quick cider and Stella at the Solarium bar then headed back to our room to get ready for dinner. It was now 7.20pm and we hadn't eaten since lunch over 7 hours ago, and we were famished

I started with a salad and Paul ordered some kind of Thai taco dish. As I went to take a photo of my starter I found the camera on my iPhone wasn't working properly and had lines moving across it .. Oh No! Disaster! I'm lost without that camera. Paul suggested turning it off for a while, which I did, but it kept playing up, I was gutted :sad2: By the time I thought of trying to take a photo of Paul’s starter, he had finished it

So I took a dodgy photo of my meal, we both had the rack of lamb .. It was delicious, but I couldn't think of anything but my phone, so I switched it off and put it in my bag

Once again we shared an apple pie a la mode then we left

As the Rising Tide Bar was packed on Deck 5, we went up to Central Park for a Mimosa and waited for the elevator bar to empty out on Deck 8

We then ordered a Cosmo each and I switched my phone on and asked the lovely girl who had brought us our drinks all week to take a photo, and yay! It worked! though I know I'll be stressing about it happening again

We had one more drink at the Schooner Bar and Paul hit the casino, then as I was tired I got ready for bed and Paul went off out to take photos around the ship

Tomorrow - Last full day :( Day at Sea
