Lost Upgraded Magicbands at Check-In

After many days and time spent trying to get custom upgraded bands the whole family would like, we were disappointed to find the hotel did not have them. We checked in today at Pop. They said they were lost... they were very apologetic, and quickly offered us vouchers that can be redeemed at a disneypark store. Have any of you canadians managed to get the upgraded bands at check-in?

We checked in at Pop on Friday night and received our upgraded bands without issue. My ordering process of them was so easy and seamless too so I was surprised to read about all the difficulties people were having!

This was our experience as well on August 1. We ordered the first day upgrades released. I have to say that I won’t do it again until they create a better system — I too was worried they wouldn’t be at the hotel upon arrival even though it was charged to our credit card long ago. I’m glad they were able to give the OP new park ones regardless & not just grey ones.

    We had a similar issue early July at Pop

    We had a frustrating time trying to get upgraded bands for the 6 of us online
    After a couple of cancelled orders a castmember eventually submitted our order (from the Disney Store rather than through MDE/Our reservation) to be at the resort when we arrived.
    No sign of the bands when we get there and turns out they had arrived 1 week earlier then had been returned to Disney store
    45 further minutes added to our check-in we eventually received a voucher for 6 new bands

    Trying to find a single store that had all 6 bands proved hopeless and we probably spent longer than we would have liked searching
    Eventually 4 days into our vacation having tried all the parks we bit the bullet and made some compromises on design choices
    Castmember at the store was skeptical that a resort would issue such a voucher for 6 bands (all 6 of us were there at the register) and spent a painfully long time confirming it was indeed legitimate. Eventually we got the bands assigned to our accounts and on the 5th day we were actually able to use (some of) the bands we had originally ordered back in Spring.

    We found that the selection of bands available at Pop was actually quite good and with hindsight we could have made our compromises and picked up bands there
    The stores in each of the parks had more bands available but not necessarily more designs

    Wow! I'm a bit worried now seeing everyone's stories here. I ordered last month for a November trip, and now I'm wondering if they attempted to ship it to the resort right after the order was processed, in which case I highly doubt they would keep them at the resort for months on end waiting for our trip to start.

    For those of you that got vouchers instead, did they give you plain onese to use in the meantime? Were the vouchers for $24.99 bands? I ordered a limited edition one that cost me $15 extra instead of $10, so just wondering what they'd do in that case.

    Update... got a call this afternoon that they found our bands! We had already used our vouchers... but had picked different designs.. so turned out great. We got to keep both!

    We picked new bands at Mousegears... some 25$ and some 30$ bands. When using the voucher the employee told us it was for the plain ones. But after explaining why they issued the vouchers, they let us keep the ones selected. :) After all, we had paid for an upgraded band... jot the plain ones!

    I just phoned in today hoping that I would reach a passholder cast member(I didn't) and say that I have tried for 3 months multiple times almost every day and still haven't been able to get my one daughter a single princess or Tinkerbell. I really don't understand how after all these months they still can't get a proper working system. When we went in May we had ordered them and of course they weren't there when we showed up.

    I ordered a Elsa band for myself and my husband just wanted plain! It took me a few attempts to order it and in the back of my head since they don't mail to Canadians, I kind of assume that it won't be waiting at the desk for me - based on responses here sounds like maybe 50% chance its there! Fingers crossed for September visit!
