Just Hold On, We're Going Home...All 11 of Us Are Going to Mickeystoontown's Home! Update 10/27

Welcome back, friend! Hope life chills out for you guys here soon!

So happy you are ok but sad for all thats happened to you , life sucks sometimes for sure. Hopefully we will be going to Mexico next year and will be sure to call you for the vacation! HUgs to you and the family xxx <3

Wow I thought my life had gotten hectic! Very unfair of your old bosses family not paying you what was agreed on, but expecting you to work full time almost! I am glad you got your travel work up and running though so that is fun! Little extra Disney money :) Take all the time you need to come back. I will be right here waiting!

I am still here and sending up a prayer.

Totally understand that you've been MIA, do to a hectic schedule. I remember you telling us about your boss but didn't realized that you were still dealing with that office on top of your new jobs. Sorry to say this, but it doesn't surprise me that they kind of was "short changing" you, seems like something your old boss would do. I'm glad that your mom for the most part is doing well except for those darn dizzy spells. I hope they are far an few between and that you find an answer why and can prevent them from happening at all. Insurance and prescriptions....just double trouble when they don't get along.
Just wanted you to know that I worried about you but would catch a magical distraction post and knew you were some where. I even comments on one. Gave me a little peek in what you did on your trips: )
Will be glad when you can give us an update, even if you TR becomes a "Cliff note" story, a shorty version is better than none.
I've been here so many years, that I'm not going any where.
Take Care

Always thinking of you and your family, Lisa. Hope Mama's dizzy spells get better. My husband has been having problems with vertigo from inner ear problems, so maybe a visit to an ENT could either confirm or rule that out for her. You work way more than 3 jobs, girl - you didn't even mention the etsy shop much less that huge garden you grow. Hope John's job situation has improved and he doesn't have to deal with the hassles.

I finally checked back in here at the DIS and I was glad to see your update. Do you have your usual trip planned for this May?

I like your ticker Lisa! Is that 2 trips I see .

Where are you staying?

Thanks to each and every one of you for letting me know that you care enough to stick around!

I do have two tickers right now. One is for a Thanksgiving trip. It's going to be a budget trip and for only a week. Probably going to stay at a value resort because I can get a great rate as a travel agent. Then we are shooting for our regular May trip in 2018. We are still "newbies" at our jobs so we hope to be able to pull off two trips within seven months.

Okay, so the Dis is acting a little crazy right now and I'm having to stop and let my typing catch up. Better sign off for the night and update again tomorrow.

As others have said, it is so good to see you back! Post when you have time, but no worries if you can't. We will hang around and wait!

:grouphug:

I enjoyed reading your very detailed descriptions of the Mexico pavilion. There are a lot of other Quick Serve places we enjoy around the World Showcase, so we haven't paid much attention to the one here, but there were some tempting options as I read through the menu you posted.

So many places to eat.

So little time...

I also appreciated the pictures you posted of the exhibit with the description of the ancient ball court. We saw the remains of one of these ball courts when we were touring the Coba ruins in Mexico.

Glad to see new posts!

This looks like the sport that they play on Elena of Avalor!

Yay! you are finally getting your Christmas trip you've wanted it. I promise you will love it.

I wouldn't know anything about not posting in a while.....:rolleyes2:lmao:

Seriously though, I knew about most of what's been going on thanks to Facebook, but I'll still say that you've had a rough year lady! Glad you are back and we get to see more of your wonderful family!

Just wanted to pop in and say that I enjoyed reading your update! I know real life has been crazy, so I think all us DISers appreciate you taking the time to write more about your trip. :goodvibes

Two trips in less than a year sounds wonderful! The November one will be extra exciting because you'll get all the holiday decorations.:thumbsup2

I'm new here but I just have to say I love your trip reports! I came across yours from 2009 and I made it to page 98 before I started having page loading issues. I plan to go back and finish. I also plan to play catchup on your others as I have time. I'm looking forward to reading more!

Side note: I can't believe how much your kids have grown since 2009 :joker:. I got use to seeing them in those pictures that seeing them in the one at the beginning of this thread surprised me.

Get Me to the Church on Time!

We left Mexico and strolled over to Norway. Look there's a boat crossing the lagoon!

DSCF1383 (768x1024).jpg

Once we reached Norway, Hunter, the perfect gentleman, opened the door to the Stave Church.

DSCF1386 (768x1024).jpg

The church is small and it was filled with all things Frozen. Placards were placed near each of the exhibits to let the guests know what they were looking at. As if they didn't know....'cause, I mean heck, we all know how big of a hit the movie was (and still is).

I love how Disney adds educational tidbits here and there. Not only did we get to see scenes from Frozen but we also saw examples of their clothing, musical instruments, etc.

DSCF1391 (768x1024).jpg

Hunter, being the viola player that he is, loved this fiddle.

DSCF1392 (768x1024).jpg

See how they had the picture of Anna hanging on the wall and then an example of the traditional clothing worn by the Norwegian women?

I couldn't fit the last picture of the plaque in the above update.
DSCF1394 (768x1024).jpg

Once outside, I took a picture of the mighty Viking.

DSCF1395 (768x1024).jpg

The year before, we had tried the school bread at Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. It was just okay and we were full from our lunch at Electric Umbrella so I just snapped pictures of the area.

As you can see, the one and only attraction in Norway was closed to make way for the upcoming Frozen attraction.

More pictures in Norway. Having the opening in the cliff wall looked so odd. That's usually the spot where the boats inside seem as if they are going to fall over that waterfall.
DSCF1405 (768x1024).jpg

DSCF1406 (768x1024).jpg

I love looking in all of the shops in World Showcase or actually any shop at WDW. Norway has the cutest ugliest trolls!
DSCF1407 (768x1024).jpg

And no trip to Norway would be complete without the requisite picture with the gigantinormous troll.

DSCF1409 (768x1024).jpg

Trolls! Trolls! Everywhere there's trolls!

DSCF1410 (768x1024).jpg

And vikings!
DSCF1411 (768x1024).jpg

During our previous trips, we purchased a snack item from each country and then, later that evening, sat down and sampled them. With the prices ever rising, we didn't do that this trip.

DSCF1413 (1024x768).jpg

Disney does THE best job at decorating/theming the countries.

The House of Good Fortune!

The next stop on our tour around World Showcase was China. I don't know if the vibrant colors make the details in China stand out more than the other countries or if I just love China. But I think that the details in China pop. This trip was all about taking pictures of everything in the eleven countries.
DSCF1421 (768x1024).jpg

DSCF1422 (1024x768).jpg

See the hat that this guy is styling? No, not the ball cap. The straw hat silly. John ended up buying a similar one in Japan during our 2016 trip. It's perfect for shading his face and shoulders when mowing.

DSCF1423 (768x1024).jpg

Joy of Tea is located just outside the entrance to China.

So enough about hats and tea, let's go further into the country.

Lotus Blossom Cafe is the quick service restaurant.

And Nine Dragons is the table service restaurant.

Now that I posted the above update, I realize that I had some pictures out of order. As I said, Lotus Blossom Cafe is the counter service restaurant.

House of Good Fortune has an abundance of options when it comes to shopping!

DSCF1436 (768x1024).jpg

Wait, before we go in, look at this "guard" just outside the entrance to House of Good Fortune.

Those straw hats were a hit or at least a hit as far as people posing with them.

Always remember to look up when at Disney.
