I went to Niagara Falls Canada for a few days and that is the answer I received from a police officer when I asked how to get to the street the falls were on. I was so frustrated, I just looked at him and shook my head. I was sure thankful I live in the good ole USA where everything is accessible. You wouldn't believe the trouble I had finding ramps to even cross the stupid street! Also I was going down the sidewalk on Victoria Street and one minute there was a sidewalk and the next minute I was in huge gravel on a hill sideways. What a mess!!!!!!!!!!!! I was scared to death. Lets not even talk about Clifton Hill. I might as well have been on a mountain! The scooter did fine pulling my fat butt up the hill, but My God, the hill isn't just a hill it slants to one side. I thought for sure I was going to flip my scooter!

The shuttle buses are NOT handicap accessible. The only buses that had a lift were the Casino buses. :) I didn't have to use them though because our hotel was so close to the casino.

We did have a great time, and the falls are absolutely breath taking. Maybe I'm just spoiled. I couldn't get to the outdoor pool because of the steps. I asked them to open a door for me which they had locked. You would have thought I just committed a crime. I almost told them according to the ADA you have to let me out there. Then I remembered I was in a foriegn country. Glad I didn't say anything because I would have looked really STUPID!!!!!!!

If a store had steps, too bad you couldn't go in that one. Now I did have a great time in the Hershey Store. You would have thought I never ate candy before after spending $50 in there, that store is also sample happy. Fudge, Fudge, Fudge. and God were they good.

I will probably go back, because it was fun, hopefully next time I will be able "to get there from here":)

It sounds like a lot of places in the US 10 years ago. At one restaurant close to Mount Rushmore, DD had to use the bathroom. We had to ask for some tables and chairs to be moved to make a path. We got to the bathroom and DD's wheelchair (which was a narrow child's chair at that point, wouldn't fit thru the door. After that, I scouted out bathrooms before moving anything.
Sounds like you had fun despite the accessibility problems though. And you are making me seriously want to eat chocolate - lots of it.
Anyway, thanks for the report.

That reminds of driving a car in Orlando!!

Everything is on the "you can't miss it, its on the left",even if you have missed it and have to turn around the new directions are "you can't miss it, its on the left"

Let me tell you I can miss it!! I just can't figure out how everthing got on the left of me,going and coming back??

Now I know why everyone WANTS to ride the busses at WDW!!

AH HA!!! So you went North instead of South..;)
wondering where you scootered off to!
missed ya!
