Just got back from our trip with an 8 yr old and 2 yr old (his 1st trip). Here's some notes if it helps anyone:

Resort- ASMu was fine, we're not picky and have only stayed at values. Plenty of choices at food court, 3 caballeros pool was fine, would have liked a shorter walk to bus (were in Broadway 7 bldg) Used a Disney pack & play which was clean, fit perfectly in an out of the way spot by tv/dresser. We are planning to.hopefully try a deluxe next trip, on the monorail line, for convenience. The buses were not bad but it just got long after a few days and it's a LOT of work to get back for a break.

Our 1st trip with a 2yr old-we were a little nervous as we hadn't taken his older brother so young. Overall he did great considering the overwhelming nature of the trip. Before the trip we met characters at local events and went to Sesame Place. This was invaluable as he was comfortable around characters and loved having an autograph book. He had no problem falling asleep in the stroller in the park, loved character meals and rides. We tried to be flexible-cancelled 1 ADR, cut out some things. One of the boys favorite things was gettong totally soaked playing in the rain by the purple wall in MK. Be flexible, budget your time well, but don't be afraid to go with a toddler!

Some standouts- HEA dessert party (We strolled out 15-20 min before and had a perfectly good view. Show & experience made us tear up.) Kids were into the kidcot stops, passport, and Agent P adventure which let us enjoy Food & Wine. We all loved the SW dessert party. Did MK EMM and thought it was a great value. Will do it again. Breakfast was good, rode SDMT 5x with no wait while yr old went on carousel with Grandma, Pooh, and Pan 2x. Between these events, dining pkgs for Fantasmic, parade, & ROL, and good FP+ planning we literally never waited more than 10-15min for anything! Invaluable with 2 kids! Kids loved Teppan Edo, Chef Mickey, Tusker House bf, Sci Fi, BOG lunch, Garden Grill bf.

Overall we had an amazing trip. Don't get me wrong, we left exhausted & hot, and we had our stressful moments. But we made so many amazing memories, can't wait to go back, and feel it was totally worth it.

*used a CARES harness as we had no car. Worked out great and would highly recommend. Also our mini mister fans and a small fan from Dollar Tree we used for the stroller were perfect!

somewhat unrelated question but have you had the kids at Dutch Wonderland as you were talking about Sesame Place
