Jedi Training Academy and Slinky Dog this summer- which to rope drop?

We arrived on Monday 7/9 at around 7:30am. (that was the earliest we could get our large group there) That day was 7am EMH, 8am regular park opening. We rode SDD with a 20 minute wait even though the posted wait was almost an hour. We then rode Alien Swirling Saucers, and then headed over to Jedi Signups, it was roughly 8:30am. We could choose any show from 11:20am on. I imagine it would be even better at the end of August.

As a side note, SDD is a *must do* after dark! (if the lines aren't too long) After regular park opening the posted wait times were fairly accurate, but the line moved quickly. And the Play Disney Parks app is absolutely fantastic, it helps make waiting in line go much more quickly!

My DD works Jedi training (sign up-not on stage) and they have had slots open most days for hours after sign ups start since TSL opened. Also-the waits for TSL in the am seem to be dropping exponentially this last week.
One word of warning-they often won't know if they have to pull the jedi show/cancel until last minute due to storms/rain-which are happening nearly every afternoon...
