Are all these rumors about the pool being open rumors from Disney or rumors from the deep dark internet? If these rumors turn out to be true that would be so so awesome! We aren't pool people, but the pool area is just beautiful and relaxing. If it is open for our trip in two weeks, I will be a happy vacationer!
Rumors from guests staying there now coming from what they see and hear.
I really hope this turns out to be true! We arrive on 11/11 and would love to enjoy our downtime at Uzima instead of Samawati Springs.
I would LOVE to see the pool open when we go in a month. Not that we spend a lot of time there, but I know my kids will want to go at least one day, and as much as we love the pool at Kidani, I figured it would be packed with all the Jambo people trekking over there, too.
Booked AKL yesterday for a resort-only stay for my family and I Aug 10-12. That's right after our 2 weeks stay at St. Pete Beach. When I learned that the DIS organizes a Pandora DIS party on Aug 10 I jumped on the occasion of staying at AKL (our first deluxe stay) since we are already in FL! I will be the only one attending the party while DH stays in the room with our girls.
What is the DIS Pandora party that you are talking about? We will be there around that same time and have a reservation at AKL. Just curious if I am missing something.
Is anyone at Animal Kingdom right now? Could you please take a picture of the Resort Guide with activities, character greetings, etc.? I'm curious if Stitch still does meet & greets/character greetings at AKL/Kidani.
The October Recreation Calendar can be found here if this is what you are looking for: https://www.themouseforless.com/tripplanning/resorts/wdw/pdf/AKLCalendar.pdf
Dreams Unlimited will celebrate their 20th with a big party at Pandora (Aug 10 11pm-1am). They reserved the whole land!!! You can check the thread in the Podcast sub-forum...
Thank you! This is perfect!
Has anyone ever done the Animation Class in Simba's Activity Center? Is it worth doing?
We have a BWV reservation for 12/16-12/23, however we found a better flight the day before (15th), so we have added a night at AKL!! I am SO excited as I’ve always wanted to stay here! Can’t wait to see it decorated for Christmas ❤️
Can someone please post pics of most current in-room dining menu? Or direct me to pics? Google is only giving me outdated menus. Thanks!!
You can find it on allears.net
Couldn't find a newer menu.
By the war, as far as I know you can also order off the Jiko menu. This is what we plan for our next stay
We are staying at AKL for our first time Jan 25-Feb 1 for a double birthday trip for my daughter and I! We are so excited to check out this resort. We booked a standard view but are hoping we can get a partial savanah view. What should be our #1 meal to try here? We’ve never been to any of the meals at AKL but my daughter will be 5 and my son 6 so I don’t think we are ready for Jiko/signatures yet. The only sig we’ve eaten at has been CRT.
I would suggest Boma since it’s a buffet with many different foods - as much or as little as you please! There’s a pod there devoted to kids items. Once seated, the server will take your beverage order, then you can begin loading plates!
Any new news on the progress of the pool?
Just leaving after a 4 night stay in King Bed CL room. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
-We arrived at 6:30am on our check-in day, and our room was ready!
-We found the bed to be very comfortable and the room was clean
-Friendly staff, both at the front desk and at the CL lounge
-Enjoyed the CL offerings
-No issues with bus service
-Concierge had accidentally put another family's itinerary in our room on our first day
-Mousekeeping left a sealed bag of trash on top of our open suitcase/clean clothes one day, and never hung up my bathrobe back in the closet anytime I left it on the bed (it was left on the back of a chair one day, and another day it was hung on the side of the TV console)
-Sometimes Mousekeeping would also leave the TV on when we would be out all day...I know that's protocol on check-in days, but on the other days it just seemed like a waste of power and the TV would get very hot
-Rooms do need a refurb...peeling wallpaper and a sad lack of outlets for charging devices. Glad they are about to do a refurb.
Incidentally, the pool looked so nice, we couldn't believe it wasn't open yet. All work appears to be complete.
