Is this person on FB in charge of Fish Extender?

No, that was not why I switched cruises.
Even if it was, seriously, some people are such bullies that the intimidation factor and the reminder of how you were treated on the thread every time you saw someone's FE would be enough to spoil it. I might consider not going where I knew I was going to feel that way.

No one should be allowed to make you feel that way and it sounds like this woman excels in it.

I would like to offer a different perspective on this. How you feel about what someone does is fully within your own control. If you are treated poorly, you can choose to let that bother you for days, or for hours or for minutes.

I would clearly be very upset if I loved to do FE and was part of an FE group, had FE gifts and everything and then was booted out. It would feel angry, disappointed and maybe even a sense of loss that some part of the cruise experience was taken away. Then I'd move on.

What I've never really understood is what has become of some of these cruise planning groups. There are so many events and activities planned through the groups that it gets a little overwhelming. Group tasting, mixology, group brunch, exchanges of ornaments, magnets, candy and more. It's all in fun and I'm happy for the options, but it creates scheduling nightmares, especially when you don't know when certain things will happen until you're on board. If you've booked all of these things through the planning group and have your cruise experience tied to all these group activities and then have the rug pulled out from under you, I can see how it would feel like the planned vacation is ruined.

However, it doesn't have to be that way. The vast majority on the sailing are not participating in these group activities. The largest groups make up less than 20% of the passengers. Be flexible. Change it up. Go and have a great time DESPITE the sudden change. I'm guessing that's what everyone is doing. Don't give these admins more power than they already have but letting them having power over how you feel and what you are going to do to enjoy your vacation. They already believe they are responsible for your happiness on board. Don't make it true.

Yikes! Our group has FE, one mixology, and a sail away meet-up for the kids so there will be already-familiar faces in the kids club. That’s it.

Although thinking about NCL, those groups have a ton of traditional activities. Like cabin crawls, in order to visit room types beyond your own. And a casino game I’m forgetting the name of.

While I agree with everything you say and think that is ideal, not everyone is able to do that. Emotions are funny things that way.

right been following this and the other thread, it seems to me that there needs to be a pro active and intelligent way to solve all this mess

1. Instead of going to Disney, go direct to Facebook. On any Facebook group or page, whether you are a member or not, have liked the page or not, there is REPORT TO FACEBOOK option. On this particular Junkies main page, click on the 3 dots betweteen the words JOIN THIS GROUP and More. This brings up the following options
a) Report Group
b) Create New Group
Click on the Report Group and you get the following options
Help us understand what's happening
What's wrong with this group?
  • It's harassing me
  • It's harassing a friend
  • Sexually explicit content
  • Spam or a scam
  • Violence or harmful behaviour
  • Hate speech
  • It's for selling drugs, guns or other regulated goods
  • I think it's an unauthorised use of my intellectual property
Choose an option and it gets sent direct to Facebook. Facebook takes its rule violations seriously so if enough of you report either the main Junkies group, or your individual cruise groups which this person has taken over, then poof they get disabled. The Facebook group admins do not get a notification of their page or group being disabled, they do not get told who has reported them to Facebook. The next time they try to log in or access the group or page, they will get a message saying their page has been reported for rule violation and if they wish to retrieve it, they need to contact Facebook.

2. The next thing that needs to happened is that every single one of you go to your Disboards cruise meet thread and / or your Disboards FE Thread and actually physically warn everyone about this person. It can be done either through PM or in public, but people need to know.

3. As this person is actively campaigning against Disboards, then its up to people on here to take back control and actively campaign against her, not just in this thread but in every cruise thread here on Dis.

4. If people on your cruise do really want a Facebook group, then this persons name must be circulated and everyone warned against her. Again take back control from her, do not allow her to be a member of the groups, do not allow her to be admin. If she does manage to join the private group, then form a mutiny, and leave and create a new group and leave her in a dead and inactive group.

You guys need to be pro active and actually do something, as right now, all thats happening is alot of talk and no action.

@BadPinkTink has some good suggestions, but be careful in what you say about a person on public forum, especially when using their real name. Stick to verifiable facts, not something you have heard or believe to be true. I have shared my personal experiences with these admins and indicated names and/or initials only where I knew it to be true. If something is being printed and sold with Disney characters, it's copyright infringement, even if there is no profit being made. Since none of us know the actual cost to make/ship these things, stating that someone is making a profit is just an assumption. If you have an idea of how much something like that should cost, then it's fair to make that statement, but sweeping generalizations can get you into trouble.

Making disparaging comments about another person for the express purpose of establishing a negative reputation is a danger zone. You may want to get solid legal advice before embarking on a personal crusade against another individual. Even if no self-respecting attorney would be willing to take up a case against you, there are enough out there that could. Something to keep in mind.

So....that applies to hundreds of people who are creating and selling FE gifts, magnets, etc. Disney could have a field day on Etsy, Ebay, and even Amazon.

I believe that periodically Disney goes on Etsy and gets people to stop selling certain items. I also think that it doesn't last long and they are start back up again.

Could someone please message me who this person is? I want to know if it’s who admins the group for my September cruise. Thanks.

Search Disney Cruiseline Junkies. It is the closed group with 62k members. Check the group admins. There is a male and female with the same second name. You can also have a read of the group rules and see that it says that posts about Disboards are not allowed

I am also sailing sept. I also joined here a group. Small but maybe will grow. I am in a FB but would be very happy to also do a DIS FE. Actually would prefer!

I can’t see who the admins are. Do I have to join to be able to see?

I just looked and don’t think we’re on the same sailing. I’m on the 9/22 Fantasy Eastern.
