I know new members’ tags say “Earning My Ears”; then it upgrades to “Mouseketeer”; and then (I think) “DIS Veteran”.

    1) Is ‘tag’ the right name for these?
    2) Are there more than I listed?
    3) Is it written anywhere how many posts it takes for each?

    Thanks!

    Earning My Ears 1 - 99 posts
    Mouseketeer 100 - 499 posts
    DIS Veteran 500+ posts

Of course, the tag fairy can come along at anytime and change your tag. It's rare these days, but it happens.

You can also change out your tag for whatever you want.

It would be nice if this was explained when signing up - only joined last month and was also wondering what criteria governed the titles given to members.

Well, it doesn't really mean anything. Just a cute little title (which you can change, if you wish).

So to move up you have to post 99 times? How many times to PM someone?

10 posts to open some additional features, such as PM (or "conversation" as the software calls it) and signatures. And I think it's just 75 posts to the next "level" of user title, though you can modify that line at any time and it will override the default.

    What's a User Title Ladder?
    • Earning My Ears - Minimal Posts: 0
    • Mouseketeer: Minimal Posts: 75
    • DIS Veteran: 500
