Is the Australia trip dangerous?

Australia is one of the most amazing countries to visit. Of course there is danger everywhere - in your backyard, at your workplace, in your water. We found Australia to be far safer than our own country. On our east coast, we've had an explosion of ticks that can cause horrific diseases, swimming in the rivers of North Carolina killed a young woman from a brain eating amoeba, and these parasites were found in the public water supply in Louisiana. We have poisonous snakes, they have poisonous snakes, we have deadly spiders, they have deadly spiders....

We have AR-15s, they have kindness, we have road rage, they have manners, we have Native Americans, they have Aboriginals, we have grounded Boeing 737 Max planes, they have Quantas- the best airline in the world with the best safety record ever. What are you waiting for? If they would take us, my whole family would move there in a heartbeat. They believe we are too dangerous.

My sister-in-law lives in Australia. The common perception is the USA is MUCH more dangerous. I tend to think they are right.

Just got back from Australia a few months ago. I didn't go with ABD but with another company. Only dangerous thing we encountered was the driver that picked us up from the Melbourne Airport and took us to our hotel in the city. He had no idea where he was going and he drove like a manic.

Australian here who has lived in the states ... No, it's not dangerous. If you are taking about our native animals, I've never been bitten or stung by anything more than a mosquito.

As in any environment you are unfamiliar with, please heed any warnings. Don't put your finger down small dirt holes, don't swim when it says to keep out, swim between the yellow and red flags and that should cover it.

We just love to have a joke or two around here

Don't touch the wild animals if you see them. They might be cute but they aren't friendly.

Also in spring and summer the flies are bad. So if you see people waving their hands and arms and looking pissed off and talking to themselves that is probably why

Lol yep some of the male kangaroos at ours are taller than my husband (6ft). We don't let the dogs chase them as those claws can be nasty. Much, much more worried about snakes though! (Which you are v unlikely to see)
