Is Pixar Play Zone staying?

Update: My wife just called Recreation and was able to book the Captain Hook's Pirate Pals experience for our 2 sons (7.5 and 5.5). Our trip is the week of July 4th. Since our boys will be together and do like "adventure" we decided that they will probably like this experience as much, if not more, than Pixar Place. We do have the same reservations that are posted above and it is clearly a drawback for us that it is located at Y and B Club, when we are staying in the MK area. We will work around it.

More importantly, the Cast Member who assisted my wife did tell her that "they have been notified of the cancellation of Pixar Play Zone". The wording of this makes it sound like it is gone entirely, not that it will be moving to any sort of seasonal operation. Take that for what it is worth, but that came directly from them.

This is disappointing. My youngest loved the kids club at the BC. I was hoping to take her there for an evening so I could treat my 16-year-old and her friend to a more adult dinner. We’ll try the pirate adventure since I think she’ll like that, but it cuts down on our dining options. I’m pretty free range with my kids but still not quite comfortable leaving her at the BC while we travel to Disney Springs or the Poly for sushi.

I'm so disappointed by this. DD LOVED Pixar Play Zone back in September and really wanted to do it again. The new experience sounds interesting, but we've already done Pirates and Pals, and honestly, I don't like the idea of her being on a boat without me. I really hope they bring back something similar to the Play Zone.

Good riddance to PPZ. Compared to Lilo's Playhouse of the past, it was a terrible deal. It also seemed like they took less care in managing older vs younger kids. My two 6 year olds came back a mess at 10:30 because they didn't get to do a game because bigger kids kept cutting in line.

Lilo's Playhouse, on the other hand, left them begging to go back the next night, even during the midnight pickup time!

We planned an adults night out and made reservations at California Grill due to the fact the Pixar Play Place was in the same resort. Now we are looking at Babysitting options as we also do not like the times nor the activities of the Capt. Hook Pirate Adventure. So disappointed that Disney doesn't have better Kids Clubs at the Parks like they do on the Cruise Ships. My Kids love the Kids Club on the ships.....

Does anyone know if they will re-open the arcade if pixar play zone is closing? My kids loved the arcade at CR.

This is very disappointing! My son did Pixar play zone in August and again in December twice(we were there two weeks). He had a great time and asked to go back! I’m not sure I like the idea of a boat. Kids aren’t aware of their surroundings and I’d be afraid something could happen especially with a five year old. They are so much smaller and with a 12 yo next to them not paying attention just seems like a recipe for disaster and a future lawsuit for Disney!

Our kids really enjoyed the Pixar Play Zone, so this is disappointing for us as I think the hours for the new offering are too short. For us to make it worthwhile, we’d like to be able to make it a real date night - dinner and some shopping, drinks, etc at Disney Springs.

As for the Pixar, I recall one problem with it was the restroom situation. They didn’t have any restrooms inside of the actual location and CMs had to escort the kids outside to the nearby monorail restrooms near the escalators, which get a lot of traffic. It really wasn’t an ideal situation. Other than that, I can’t imagine why you discontinue this.

What’s worse is Pixar Playzone wasn’t even as awesome as Simba’s Playhouse OR Lilo’s Playhouse. Both of those started at 4:30 and ran until midnight! It cost me around $99 for BOTH of my boys with my AP discount. My kids LOVED IT!!

Now, this new Hook’s Pirate Crew sounds fun, and $55 for 4 hours is at least a better rate per hour than most Care dot Care local providers. That’s $13.75/hour, versus the $15/hour I’ve been quoted from Care. Disney really recommends the outsourced “in room childcare”, too, which blows my mind. Sorry, I’d rather have my kids with Kids Recreation Cast Members than a strange person who shows up to my room. How boring to be stuck in the room!

At least they are replacing Pixar Playzone with something...and I’m hoping Beach Club will have a far better set up.

I’m still disappointed Simba’s & Lilo’s Clubhouses closed.

I’m disappointed, too! Lilo’s Would’ve been more convenient for us since we stay at VGF. Unfortunately, it closed before our kids were old enough/brave enough to utilize it. Once they tried the club on DCL, I knew I could probably get away with leaving them, lol! I don’t see myself ever utilizing an in-room babysitter...
