Just trying to plan a family trip...I am already booked for June 17th at HRH, but was wondering how the heat or crowds is in early Aug. compared to June 17th week? Please help!! <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

Yes! It is HOT and crowded in Aug. But, it's still wonderful.
We spent 3 days at Universal in early Aug of 99.
Keep in mind IOA was very new. If you have the luxury of FOTL and EE, I wouldn't really worry about the crowds. Just start the parks early, and take a mid afternoon rest at the hotel, pool etc. and get back out around 6ish.
For us, the bigger issue was the heat! We live in a very humid warm area but, aug. on Florida concrete was tough! Have lots of hints for the heat if need, just ask. Lucky You!

We hit USF & IOA in the 3rd week of August this year. At that time they offered 1 hour early admission and their version of fast pass to multi-day ticket holders. We had no problem hitting both parks in a single day. Many IOA rides had no lines what-so-ever until 11:00 am. In the afternoon we hit USF and only MIB had a line. We used the singles line and rode it twice in a half hour total.

Many schools start up in late August so it's a great time to hit both Disney & USF. A 3 day USF/IOA ticket costs about the same as 2 one day passes, they never expire and you get express pass use until 11:00am.

It was hot (90's) but we have seen worse (100's in mid-July).
