Another report - used both a targeted link and a manipulated link for 2 recent cards:

I got shutdown as well by chase. Only had 4 cards with them in total, 3 personal and 1 business. I applied for the CIU targeted link and CIP generated link. I expect no sympathy for my situation as I know I brought this onto myself. Still sucks nonetheless.
Very small balance on my CSR and none on the other cards. You can see my stats if you scroll down to my citi shutdown post!

Holy crap - this guy was also shutdown by Citi TODAY! What a freakin’ day!!

So two Chase biz card apps at the same time? Sounds safe to me!

Thank you, it seems like a nice machine, but I don't want to give her bad advice if she is dropping $1,500 on something. Glad to hear you are enjoying yours a year later!

Oh Sony computers! They used to look so cool! My sister's first laptop was actually an HP years ago when the first Centrino chips came out (I picked that one too LOL). The Envy and Spectre seem to offer better graphics capabilities than the XPS, but IDK that she would necessarily benefit from it. I almost want her to go to BB or something just to look at the actual machines and try the touch pads. That has been a dealbreaker for me on some models at work.

Excellent point. She is not doing anything like intense gaming. LOL I am mostly looking at ultrabooks because she carries it around with her everywhere and likes it to be tiny, light, and run cool with a solid battery. Right now her Portege has an i5, 8gb ram, and 256 SSD. I told her should shouldn't go below 16gb of ram and a 512gb ssd considering her 256 is almost full. The Portege is a business laptop and I actually looked at the Latitude 7300 because it has so many useful ports.

Funny you mention Costco... I have two models on my radar between Thanksgiving and Black Friday. In my research I see the regular XPS will have a better keyboard feel, but the 2 in 1 has the superior 10th generation i7 with Iris Plus graphics. It's a $100 difference so I will let her decide. Costco makes returns effortless if she is unhappy within 90 days.

Those new 16 inch MacBook Pros do like very nice :thumbsup2 I have a mid-2015 15-inch that is still working great so no need for me... yet lol

Wow! $130?! She isn't looking for something with a 4k screen or titanium finish (those are just added bonuses), she just wants it to boot up fast, be very light, and last a long time if she can't plug-in. Her current machine is just over 5 years old and cost $1,200 back then (without extended insurance, that was added-on) so I think she is ok with spending that much if it will last a similar amount of time. I guess she could technically upgrade for $300 annually rather than one $1,500 unit lol
I think the 2-in-1 would be an excellent choice unless she needs the additional HD space. The versatility would be nice. But, those MacBook Pros! I have no need for one either - the 27” iMac and iPad 11 I bought last year are plenty, but it would sure be nice to have something in between :D

I like how you think. I also feel the 1080p screen on the 2 in 1 will be better on the battery than the 4k display on the regular XPS.

That iMac must be gorgeous 🤩 I really do love my MacBook Pro, even if it is 4.5 years old. The battery swelled on it last year and my Citi card doubled Apple Care (rip extended warranty benefit) and covered the replacement of the battery, keyboard, and bottom enclosure. I think that extended the life of this unit for a decent amount of time.

Thanks.. Looks like something I need to do but looks like it will be time consuming.
It is definitely worth it. 🙂 I love 1Password and how easy it is to use. Once you install and set up the account, you really just need to log in to each site and it will prompt you to save the info. I use on my desktop, iPad and iPhone and I can’t tell you how many times it’s been so handy to have all of my info in my hand whenever I need it. All I have to remember is my 25-character master password😬

@SouthFayetteFan what do you think of the CSR with $550 AF people are reporting
Those offers were possibly setup to do an A/B test over some changes to the CSR and the addition of some other premium annual credits of some sort (ie compare which offer consumers preferred). I’m thinking it’s largely nothing at this point but of course could turn into something at any time.

Another one bites the dust...

These people are making my warning on here look REALLY smart the other day...

This user is the mod and creator of r/churningmarketplace, is 25/24 and applied using a manipulated link it appears.
Wow, but this is why everyone here warns of using manipulated links and watching velocity with other personal cards when applying for Chase. It is sad the user only had 1 other Chase card, but I guess 25 in 24 months sent up a big red flag to Chase.

I really hope it turns out to be nothing. I don't want some useless delivery or rideshare credit. If Chase increased the percentage earned on dining and travel and/or increased the general travel credit then I may jump on board lol

I think you’re right. Unless she’s doing some major photo editing, 4K seems like overkill.

Oh, yeah, I think you just got yourself a couple more years with that MacBook Pro. Not a bad thing, but the new ones are pretty! I bought one for our Communications Specialist last year and practically needed a towel to keep the drool off of it while I set it up. He’s kind of a messy guy, so it kills me every time I see it, with the fingerprints all over the screen and dirty keyboard...who touches a non-touch screen????

I LOVE my iMac! It is really nice. I do a Shutterfly book after every vacation, so I need a big, beautiful screen to work with the photos. It’s also nice for my giant, annual budget spreadsheet 🤪 But, you just can’t go wrong with a Mac. My last iMac was 5 years old, still in good shape but I wanted the thinner form factor so I took it to a local shop and he gave me 25% of the original price I paid for it. Turned around and put that toward the new one. Can’t do that with a Windows machine!

My somewhat callous and selfish response to shutdown reports...
If you remove the “personal” aspect of a shutdown I actually find them rather helpful and I’m glad we see them. Why you might ask??

It shows us just how hard you have to churn to get shutdown. As you can see, these reports show that the vast majority of us here have nothing to worry about unless their pattern for shutting people down changes.

I know we have a few more hardcore churners amongst us and I sincerely hope that you are never this unfortunate DP though.

I do like the space gray ones and Apple Pay would be great. One day! UGH I also hate when people touch their regular screens. I try to keep mine in mint condition. My 2009 MacBook Pro still looks new out of the box 🤣

Those are great justifications for that amazing display! Do you use a Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad?

I also can't believe how Macs retain their value. I was just playing around on the Apple website and I can get $810 for my current Pro on trade-in. That is insane to me! You can't even upgrade the thing.
