So we got P2’s Cap1 Venture today. It’s been a hassle to activate. So far they couldn’t activate online using his phone number (it’s issued by his company so not officially in his name). He had to talk to someone on the phone and they tried to activate using his phone number. Didn’t work. The CSR texted an ID authentication site where he had to take a picture front and back of his DL and upload it. That didn’t work (the WiFi connection was fine and the pictures were also clear). Now step 3 is, they sent him an email with a link. He has to send in pictures now of DL, SS card, and a utility bill or bank statement. I’m glad they’re vigilant re fraud, but this is a giant pain in the rear.
DH feels it’s too great of a security risk to send Cap1 these documents. Why would an attempt to prevent fraud need to expose you to possible fraud? It doesn’t make sense. He’d like to just forget the whole thing. But with the hard pulls on his credit plus this taking one of his 5/24 slots, I’m not sure how to proceed. Would you all send these documents?

I'd start by not pursuing a Cap1 card... :lmao: 😂

BUT...yeah, I'd probably send them. I am concerned that they are requesting them via an email though. Typically banks use a fax line to protect against fraud. I might question them on that.

Didn't have to wait until 5, got an email that I have to report for jury duty at 8am tomorrow. It's not that I don't want to do it but I don't want to do it.

Sorry @DisneyMandC I know you guys need people and it's not that I don't want to I just don't want a bad case like abuse or something like that. It's one thing to see them on tv vs being there.

Spent $330.90 at Newegg - $200 visa egc, $100 visa egc, and $15 Uber egc
Got $99.27 credit from tech provider offer on Amex! Sweet deal!

Use both visa egcs to buy Disney gc from sams.
My Disney GCs arrived from BJs today!
I agree on the Worst website ever for a card. However, I have the two numbers and I never had an employee card. I messed up by only looking at the account that was on the “top” and I underpaid the first time. It also messed up my calculations for the MSR. As soon as I met the spend and got the bonus, I put away that card to hopefully never see it again.
You are the employee. I have myself and an employee, so there are three accounts: company, mine, DSs. 🙄
Does anybody in our group hold the new SW biz card??
    Me. Well, actually DH.

Well, if I had a time machine, I would definitely not. :crutches:

The email they sent had a link to a site for secure downloads. I think it would be ok. The info itself isn’t anything they don’t already have. It’s just the transmission of it. But DH is very reluctant right now.

I'm desperately trying to catch up but just want to echo everyone's sentiments regarding @Lain and @SouthFayetteFan's immeasurable amount of advice, along with many other pros here. I respect your generosity and patience with everyone and would never blame anyone for any downfalls in this ever changing game!

Just got my second batch of 2k in gcs at Staples with my CIC, hoping to do this a few times for URs a la @speedyfishy. I'm finding this is the currency I can use the most these days.

Saw Lion King this weekend and I loved it. Feel the same as @DisneyMandC and @wendow. Surprised at Be Prepared but really thought the movie was well done. I actually brought my 3 and a half year old to see it and she did great. She's been to the theater several times and is used to it. Plus, she likes live action films...her favorite is Beauty and the Beast live action. She prefers it over the animated version! The people sitting in front of us commented as we left how good she was, and how she was quieter than their 8 year old ( who was slurping his drink the whole time). So, I definitely think it depends on the child.

Daydreaming about the chocolate chip cookie made by Gideons bake shop that you can get at the Polite Pig in DS.
Ha, I was showing DH this same pic on Sat! Can't wait to get one in October!

Fingers crossed its an easy case! My BIL got to hand out the largest (at the time) settlement against the state he lives in. Stick it to the man haha

Just a derp I’ll share to hopefully save someone else the same derp. If anyone is still going for the Target Red DEBIT card (no credit check) to get the $40 off $40 don’t apply with the same checking account as your spouse. Didn’t even think about it and my husband used our joint account to apply right after me so it kicked both back but made us wait a week to get the letter in the mail saying thats what happened. They manually approved mine and cancelled his so he could reapply with a different account. Even if name/SS# is different two accounts can’t connect to the same checking acct. (Which duh in hindsight but again derp in the moment).

Lol don’t worry, I understand. Did you say before you had a trip you were leaving for? I thought I remembered something about that. Typically they will ask in voir dire (where the judge and attorneys ask you all the questions) about whether there’s any other commitments you have. We’re not in the business of wanting to ruin people’s plans if they have a good reason to not be there.

Unless your court system is divided into criminal and civil courts and you already know where you’re going, you may not be sitting on a criminal case. Most civil juries are personal injury cases like car accidents.

I just had to send those same documents to Barclays. My only options were snail mail or fax. When they say utility, at least Barclays, meant gas, electric or water. I had sent my AT&T that was a no go so I had to send a bank statement instead to prove my address and identity. Good luck with your decision! I am actually an emp of that federal agency that issues those SS cards so that part really left me uneasy given all of the identity theft that is occurring.

Great Southern Bank peeps. I’m stymied. Can’t figure out how to link a bank account to my GSB checking account. Spent 20 minutes looking. I can’t even find a spot that lists the full account number and routing number so I could pull from another bank.

Wish our staples would allow more than 1 per person. I didn’t make it today so hoping tomorrow to make it. Staples needs to be closer 35 min one way without traffic. Just hoping I get someone new or young at the cash register so I can try to do a couple thousand. I’d at least like to knock out the Mortage with this offer.

I know what voir dire is, I watch Bull :) Just didn't know that's how you spelled it and would never have gotten it right.

I leave two weeks from tomorrow on a red eye. The average trial is 2 weeks so I figured I'd be ok not deferring it until after.

As far as I know they don't separate because nothing has said they have. The county does have two courthouses, the one in dt Seattle and then the one in my city close enough to me I don't get mileage reimbursement. I know there's an attached facility but I think it's just holding for the courts. There's one between us and Seattle that just holds for various places since some cities around here don't have their own facilities.

My biggest issues is trying to figure the food out. It doesn't say I can't bring any and I need my snacks even if my lunch stays in the car but I'd rather just have it all with me. At least I have a book about the suffragists and the 20th amendment I need to finish before it's due the 28th.
