How to Keep Lanyard Pins On?

Does anyone have any tips for how to keep Disney pins from falling off of lanyards? We like to wear our collected pins on our DCL Castaway Club lanyards, but we've lost multiple pins that way, as the plastic pin backs easily fall off. Do any of you use a different type of back for the pins that works better?

They have backings that are held on with an allen key screw. I use those for my rare pins.
