My son was 4 when we went to Disney in 1996. Now that we are going again in Oct he just turned 9. I was NOT thinking of getting the stroller. However his cousin is only 14 months younger and I just heard that he used one in Nov. How old is too old for stroller? I mentioned this to son and he said NO WAY. But will there be too much walking?

I think it depends on your child. I have an 8-yr. old who won't ride in it, but your son may be different. The way I see it, do whatever will cause the least amount of stress for the family. If he is really against it, it may not be worth the hassle of arguing with him.

He's against it, so chances are good he won't want to be in it. If he gets really pooped, he may agree to sit in a rental.

OUR DD WAS 7 LAST YEAR AND OUR DS WAS 4.75 - (SORRY BUT HE DIDNT WANT TO BE JUST 4)

WE TOOK A STROLLER FOR HIM - USED IT ONCE AT SEAWORLD (TO CARRY PACKAGES) - DD HAD BEEN BEFORE WITHOUT ONE AND DIDNT WANT ONELAST YEAR EITHER

WE ACTUALLY LEFT IT IN THE RENTAL CAR (WHO SAID THEY WOULD DISPOSE OF IT) AS WE NEVER EVEER USED IT HERE IN THE UK

NO NEED TO TAKE ONE I WOULD SAY ESPECIALLY IF HE DOESNT WANT ONE ANYWAY

IF HE COMPLAINS JUST REMIND HIM HE DID NOT WANT YOU TO TAKE ONE - HAVE FUN :bounce:

A stroller probably won't be necessary, but you should go on lots of walks before you go so that he doesn't get tired. Also, try to go somewhere like the zoo for a day and stay on your feet most of the time to see how he handles it.

I think it is highly unlikely that a 9-year-old boy will be willing to ride in a stroller, unless he has something that limits his ability to walk. My advice is to fit in sit-down attractions (especially shows) during the day to give him a chance to rest.

We just did an 11 day Florida vacation with a 7 year old and a 4 1/2 year old. We usually stayed in the parks for 6-10 hrs, but even the 4 year old was OK without a stroller most of the time. We did rent a double twice. These were on days when we did a few park days in a row. Most times we tried to alternate a park walking day with a waterpark/beach/pool day.

The 7 year old was ok about riding in the stroller. If I understand, your son will be 9 in Oct 2001, but his cousin was only 7 in Nov 2000 when he rode in a stroller. So, 7 year olds seem to be OK. 9 year olds might be different.
