I prefer to make mine not because of money savings but because I do a faily elaborate scrapbook. The characters autograph by their pictures, and there is a travel journal, coloring pages, activity pages, and educational content. When we get back I paste photographs in the book along with ticket stubs, and other tidbits. Some photos are already planned like the "Sword in the Stone" and kids with Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, etc. I make specific pages for the character meals. You get the idea. The kids love these, and will be interested in these for years to come unlike an autograph book. They got a lot of extra attention from the characters because of their books, and other guests were craning their necks to look over our shoulders at these books. However, not everyone wants to go to that much work. If you don't want a project that will take hours and be a big production, then buy an autograph book or scale what I did way back.
