I LOVE threads like these. They always make me feel all warm & fuzzy and excited about upcoming trips (or excited to plan a new trip LOL!)
My favorite Disney magic story happened on our 1st "girls only" trip -- my husband had changed school districts so he couldn't come with us during fall break, so it was just me & my two daughters (They were 10 & 13 at the time). The girls put on their mouse ears as soon as the plane hit the tarmac in Orlando and wore them proudly all the way to the resort (All Star Sports). I was chatting with a CM while waiting in line to check in. She admired the girls' mouse ears and asked me why I wasn't wearing any. I told her that I'd had some years ago when I was a kid, but didn't know where they had ended up. She asked what they had looked like & I told her they were the old-school ears that were black with a red Mickey Mouse Club logo & my name in script across the back. She said she remembered those ears, back before there were a million different varieties like one daughter's pirate ears or the other daughter's fuzzy mouse ears & we laughed. About that time, it was my turn for the counter. She told us to have a magical day and that was the end of our conversation. The next day, there was a knock on the door & a CM stood there with a package. He verified my name and then handed me the package. I was a bit confused since we hadn't had any packages sent to our room. I opened it & there was an old-school pair of mouse ears complete with my name written across the back, along with a note saying that it wasn't fair for the girls to have such special ears when I didn't have any. I was SO excited!! I hadn't even given her my name at the time, so she had to have checked at the reservation desk to get the right name for the back of the ears. Those ears (shown in my profile pic, by the way), never left my head the entire trip and have been on 4 more trips since then. I still remember that magical day every time I put them on.
