one thing that happened years ago when i went with a friend, she asked the bell ringer outside Columbia harbor house where she could get a drink. In a joking way he gave her directions to exit the park, drive xyz.

we got to take over and ring the bell outside Columbia harbor house! The bell ringer was so nice and got us free drinks!

She got a free pretzel that day too but i don't remember why.

During our 4th of July 2018 trip, Disney's website was down/wonky for about 1.5 days for staff and guests. I received 16 "no hold barred" FPs as compensation for our next visit.
Woohoo-no gotta rope drop FoP!

My 2 little girls were made Mayor for the day last year which was very magical but after being confined to the Contemporary for 2 days when Irma hit, we decided to stay an extra day to use one of our park tickets that were gonna expire. This part is not magical .. we had to check out / in and we still had a ton of dining credits left. Well, the check out deleted them all from our magic bands. We tried to eat at Pesco Bills and our dining plan was gone. Anyway, there's a lot more that happened but the "Magic" happened when we were trying to get our meals and snack credits we lost redeemed and money back for what we spent since we had no more useable credits. The CM at the desk noted our account for our next visit (already booked via Bounce Back) and we received 88 anytime fast passes. 2 each for all 4 of us for 11 days to use on our upcoming trip this September! We won't use the last 8 on checkout day but I'm not complaining one bit!

It was our very long first day, and we were headed back to BLT after a rather ill-advised trip to Disney Springs (we had an ADR to eat with the grandparents there, before we left the kids seemed good to go, but once we were there it was obvious they were tired, they are little kids so it was whining and crabby all around!).

Anyway, I was taking the kids directly back to the room to try to get them to sleep while my husband detoured to Contemporary to get something (not sure, guessing groceries or stroller or something along those lines). Walking through the empty BLT lobby and all of a sudden Peter Pan pops out from behind a pillar.

He jokes with the kids, takes them over to the lobby Christmas tree, asks them about their lists to Santa and some other things...all the while all three of us having our dragging spirits lifted up to the stars!!

It was a real Disney miracle... I am guessing he had some spare time before or after the Pirates and Pals cruise but man, did that just MAKE our day. The kids couldn't stop talking about it for several days!

My twins went nuts when it was their 6th birthday and the CM saw their pins and ushered them to the very front row of Expedition Everest. It was their first time they were tall enough to ride, and they are big roller coaster fans, so they were soooo excited.

One time we missed our magical express due to a downed monorail and were crestfallen, but the CM right away gave us a taxi voucher to the airport. Love how stress-free Disney is!

One time we had to leave the Jungle Cruise ride just as we were about to board the boat because my little one had to go potty AGAIN after just going before the ride. We started to walk back in at the end of the line, but the CM recognized us as having left and escorted us back to the front as "VIPs."

I also appreciate the disney magic from other guests. Once I was at the parks solo with my twins and didn't realize that barnstormer required one adult per child. But the family behind us heard us getting turned away and their teenage daughter stepped forward and volunteered to sit with one my of twins. He was so happy he got to ride and made a "new friend" too!

On our trip in 2011, my eldest daughter was three and it was her first trip. It was our first day in the parks, specifically Epcot, and she still wasn't sure about how she felt about characters. We were headed through Innovations West building and ran face to face into Rafiki and his handler. "Uh oh," I thought, "this might be bad." You see, DD had this thing with big monkeys/gorilla suits. They freaked her out and she wasn't really familiar with "Lion King" at the time, so I wasn't sure how she'd react.

She grabbed the autograph book from me and headed straight to him. No prompting at all. Rafiki dropped to one knee, she ran up, gave him a big hug, and handed him the book to sign. After a moment, "I'm sorry Rafiki, we have to keep going," said his CM handler. Rafiki waved goodbye, blew DD a kiss, and they were on their way. I'm not sure where they were headed, but it was a little moment of magic that happened just for us. No line, no one else around. Just us, Rafiki, and a little patented Disney pixie dust. One of my favorite moments of the trip.

In 2012, we were on a long awaited 10 day Disney World trip. My daughter was 9 and my son was 2 which meant last year with a Disney child and a free one so I booked us at every character meal we wanted including a dinner at Cinderella's round table after a BBB makeover for my daughter.

Tropical Storm Debby came in on the 2nd day and sat over Disney for 4 days. Non-stop pouring rain; but no thunder or lightening. On the day of dd's makeover we spent the morning at MK, then went back to the room to dry out, change, let my son take a nap and get the stuff. Dd was hesitant to go back out. The rain had her down a bit; but perked up once I bought us umbrella's to go with our ponchos.

She had a great time at her makeover and photo session. I gave up my poncho since it was bigger so her dress would stay dry. We had a great dinner at CRT but noticed Belle never came out. We had Akersus scheduled for breakfast later in the trip so we decided to go ahead and leave. When the staff found out, they offered us a fast pass to the princess meet and greet which then was still in the town hall (where Mickey is now). Belle was appearing there then in her ball gown. And we would also see Rapunzel who we didn't think we would get to see that trip.

We had a terrific interaction with Cinderella to start. Belle was next. She thanked my daughter for coming all the way down there to find her after she "went missing from the castle". She talked to her about being a princess, teaching her how to wave and and all of the responsibilities of being a princess. The look on my daughter's face was priceless. Then they twirled together. Probably still my favorite memory with my daughter.

I LOVE threads like these. They always make me feel all warm & fuzzy and excited about upcoming trips (or excited to plan a new trip LOL!)

My favorite Disney magic story happened on our 1st "girls only" trip -- my husband had changed school districts so he couldn't come with us during fall break, so it was just me & my two daughters (They were 10 & 13 at the time). The girls put on their mouse ears as soon as the plane hit the tarmac in Orlando and wore them proudly all the way to the resort (All Star Sports). I was chatting with a CM while waiting in line to check in. She admired the girls' mouse ears and asked me why I wasn't wearing any. I told her that I'd had some years ago when I was a kid, but didn't know where they had ended up. She asked what they had looked like & I told her they were the old-school ears that were black with a red Mickey Mouse Club logo & my name in script across the back. She said she remembered those ears, back before there were a million different varieties like one daughter's pirate ears or the other daughter's fuzzy mouse ears & we laughed. About that time, it was my turn for the counter. She told us to have a magical day and that was the end of our conversation. The next day, there was a knock on the door & a CM stood there with a package. He verified my name and then handed me the package. I was a bit confused since we hadn't had any packages sent to our room. I opened it & there was an old-school pair of mouse ears complete with my name written across the back, along with a note saying that it wasn't fair for the girls to have such special ears when I didn't have any. I was SO excited!! I hadn't even given her my name at the time, so she had to have checked at the reservation desk to get the right name for the back of the ears. Those ears (shown in my profile pic, by the way), never left my head the entire trip and have been on 4 more trips since then. I still remember that magical day every time I put them on.:love::love:

This. Is. Awesome.

We've had so many magical moments over the years! One time we were checking into BC - We had flown down a day early because we were trying to avoid Hurricane Isaac which was about to hit the northeast (where we lived) and DS3 was just really out of sorts, tired, cranky, you name it. The front desk CM was doing whatever she could to put a smile on his face - stickers, etc. DS3 did love the stickers and it helped brighten his mood. The next evening, we were in our room when we heard a knock on the door. It was a CM from room service with cookies and milk and a note for my DS from the front desk CM saying she hoped he was having a better day. It was so sweet.
