Another trip, more eating way too much! This trip is just me & DH again. And as the title says it’s HOT, HOT, HOT! 😰

First day we ate at Teppan Edo for dinner & again the next for lunch, so I’m only going to add pics once for it. Both times, the meal was good & the chefs nice. The second time, we had a lady chef who sang, which was cute.

The second day we went on the the undiscovered future world tour. I don’t have pictures from it but it was so much more than I was expecting. If anyone is on the fence about taking it, I highly recommend you take it. It was awesome!

On to Magic Kingdom! We decide to try the Plaza. We haven’t eaten there in quite a few years. My DH ordered a burger with bacon and fries. It came with fairly large amounts of mayonnaise, ranch, & mustard in containers. He really enjoyed his meal. They did not ask how he wanted his burger, so I guess they only cook it well done, which was fine with him. I ordered the loaded fries with extra cheese, cause I’m on vacation & decided it’s ok to eat like a little kid. It was delicious! I loved it. Now after we were done we received the bill. Over $200!!! What!? Obviously it’s not our bill. Unfortunately, the waitress had already scanned my DH’s band and disappeared, but he hadn’t signed anything. So he waited for her to come back and correct it & take it off our account. Whew!

So the next couple of posts will not have great pics. I apologize for the mostly empty plates. I blame the heat and hunger!
First up, after doing the death march in the heat from hades we ate at Tokyo Dining. My DH had the new to the menu sirloin steak, cooked medium. He worried about this since he absolutely loved the previous filet mignon. He did really like it, though he said it wasn’t as great as the filet. I order the spicy crunchy rolls. It tasted fresh and was very good. For dessert, I ordered the mango cake. I love this cake, it’s so light, not too sweet, simply wonderful.
I also stopped earlier at Hawaii to enjoy an Aulani sunrise. It was a little pricy at $14, but you get to keep the cute glass & it was a large size. It was also so yummy!

This morning we had an early entry breakfast at Garden Grill. I swore to myself I was NOT going to forget to take pictures before we ate. Well, Mickey came by & all of those good intentions flew right out of my head. So apologies again for these, I will try to do better.
All the food was good though I thought the sausage were a little undercooked. The character interaction was fun. And we were the FIRST on Soarin! YAY! We’re now resting from the heat of the day. Later today will be Chefs de France.

Since we had a large breakfast, we didn’t eat lunch (other than chips). Later on we ate at Chefs de France. Our waiter was very nice, but he brought our entrees out before bringing the bread. I had to ask for it, which was odd. My DH ordered the pork shank but instead of noodles & broccoli he asked for fries on the side. As you’ll see they did not bring them on the side, but that was fine. He really enjoyed it. He said the meat was very tender. I ordered the goat cheese salad. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for my waistline), they forgot to put any dressing. I did not say anything, because I was really tired and didn’t want a hassle.
Sadly we were seated next to 🐖🐖🐖. The table of 3 grown late middle age (50’s?) adults were loud and belching. You read that right. Not a hiccup or small burp where one tries to hide it in their napkin, but full on belching. They were not from a culture where that would be acceptable either. They were from here. I know this because I could hear ever word they said. So that was an uncomfortable dinner.

Today we got up super early to go to HS. The crowd at the beginning wasn’t fun, but by the time we got off of MFSR it was light & very easy to just walk around and enjoy. For those interested I thought the ride was okay, but not great. I would only wait like 30min for it. The land itself is really neat, lots of details. We didn’t eat anything in the land, only bought a fountain coke which was about $3.99, surprisingly that’s cheaper than the over $4 we paid at sunshine seasons in Epcot.

We decided to eat room service for lunch since we were so tired from getting up early for SWGE. I included the menu for the Boardwalk Inn room service. We ordered a hamburger with fries and a turkey carver with fries. Both were good. Oddly though they didn’t bring us any water. Usually we receive glasses of water with room service.

This is the man in the China pavilion making cotton candy. The video wouldn’t upload, too large I think. We did buy one. While the cotton candy is pretty, but we didn’t like it. It doesn’t taste like regular fresh cotton candy. It’s kind of coarse and has a slight sour taste. Not good. Plus, I hate to say this, but the CMs in this area were the most unhappy group of CMs we have ever encountered at Disney. They looked miserable. I don’t know why. No one smiled, greeted any guests, the cash register girl was muttering something in Chinese that sounded like fussing (not towards us, towards her register). The whole interaction was slightly uncomfortable and weird.

I’m going to wrap it up with next pictures.
First up Tokyo dining again, but I remembered to take pictures this time. Yay!
We ordered the same thing minus dessert. It was the sirloin steak and the spicy crunchy roll. Both were very good again and the service can not be beat there.

Then we stopped at Ample Hills, where I got a scoop of ooey gooey butter cake with caramel and whipped cream. Let me say, I was very skeptical about this ice cream, but oh my goodness was it delicious! So rich too.

The next day we ate at Liberty Tree. This is usually one of our favorite places to eat. But we were disappointed this time. They changed the pot roast. It was dry & the flavor wasn’t as good. I had the pilgrim’s feast. The turkey was a little dry too but I poured lots of gravy on it to make it better. The real disappointment was the bread, it wasn’t anything close to the rolls they use to serve. It was a sweet cornbread, that had bits of I’m not sure what in it. Now the actual cornbread wouldn’t have been bad if it wasn’t served COLD, like pulled out of fridge cold with a cold slice of butter. I’m from the south and have grown up eating cornbread and it’s never served cold like that, either hot or room temperature (though I always heat mine).

That night we went back to Chefs de France. My DH ordered the pork shank with fries again. He loved it. I decided to try something different and got the Mac & cheese. It was a plate of creamy, cheesy goodness. I really enjoyed it.

Last post.
On the way back to our resort, we stopped at the Boardwalk bakery and picked a chocolate eclair. It was pretty but tasted just ok. The pastry portion was soggy & the chocolate cream didn’t have a real chocolate, chocolate flavor, not sure how to describe it. I wouldn’t buy it again.

All together we had a wonderful trip and ate way too much. I’m dreading stepping on the scale when we get home. 😬

Non food related stuff: I think Disney did a good thing with early entry everyday for MK & HS. It helped to disperse the crowds & made it manageable & nice.
Hope everyone enjoyed the reviews and that’s all til next time!:-)
