A tour is a really great way to go. Express passes will cut about 50% of the wait, meaning if a house has a 2 hour wait, expect to wait 45 minutes to an hour with express pass. Tours are always given priority entrance. If you are in the park for the day, go to one of the corral areas. They will fence you in while they clear the park and check to make certain you have a horror nights ticket. But, you usually are let go from the corral a few minutes at least before the entrance is opened. You can get to one or two houses without much of a wait.
