I am considering booking a "sleigh ride". In general how early in December would we expect to see people have decorated their Ft. Wilderness Campsites with Holiday Lights?

Lots of sites were decorated in November the last 2 years when we've been there. The week before Thanksgiving we saw the tree go up near trails end and the background music at the pool switched to Christmas music too. So anytime in December should be good for seeing lots of decorations.

Thanks so much! That will be really nice to see.

1) If you want to see sites, do not do the sleigh ride.
2) The ride does not go down the loops, as it stays on the main drags.
3) You can glance at some sites form the main roads, but not a detailed view.
4) Better to rent a golf cart or walk the loops.

Oh wow, thanks so much for the information. That would've been really disappointing. Looks like we'll be hoofing it with our own hooves.

1) Yes.
2) It would be nice to have The Grand Tour of campsites.
. . . some sites are slightly decorated
. . . others are all-out holiday "flash"
. . . some are positively unbelievably gorgeous
3) Some folks think the sleigh goes through all the loops and affords a view of the decorated campsites.
4) This can result in some confusion and disappointment, based upon expectations.
5) But, the ride is so short (time-wise), it does not have the ability for a lengthy tour.
. . . the ride is approx 25-minutes long
. . . that is hardly enough time to travel much of the "main" roads
. . . yes, it does claim to go "past" campsites, but what you see is from the main streets looking into the loops

NOTE: (Description from Allear's Website)
"Horse-drawn sleigh rides at Disney's Fort Wilderness & Campground are now available for booking for this coming holiday season. The decorated sleighs take you on a 25-minute trek through the woods and past the campsites. Each sleigh fits four adults or two adults and three children. Larger parties can book more than one sleigh. Riders will receive a special limited-edition pin created specifically for this event at the conclusion of the ride. Sleigh rides may be canceled during inclement weather. Holiday sleigh rides run November 27 through December 30 from 5 to 10 p.m. and are open to everyone, with no minimum age requirement. Price is $79 per sleigh. Call 407-WDW-PLAY (939-7529) to book.

NOTE: No smoking is allowed on the sleigh rides. Trips may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Do not assume that a ride is cancelled until you hear it from the driver."

We have been on the sleigh ride the past 2 years and we have gone in the 100,200,300,500,800 and 700 loop. We actually were staying in one of the loops and it went by our site almost every night. If does go in some of the loops just the ones close to the Settlement.

I will agree with Corgidad, we were there Dec 2014 and the sleigh ride sometimes came through loop 700.
