We arrived on Saturday with no dining reservations-do not worry about ADR’s - we were able to walk right up and get in with little wait.

Our first night we ate at House ob Blues and loved it. Had their fried chicken with unbelievable cole slaw.

The next day we ate at Frontera Cochina and thought the food was great. Our server, Manny was outstanding.

Thr following day we ate at Skipper Cantine and had a great meal. Pad Thai.

The following day at AMC Forks - nothing special.

Last night we ate at Art Smith’s Homecomin and it is worth the hype. Best fried chicken, creamy mashed potatoes with bacon and cheese, cheddar biscuits and southern slaw.

Today we are eating lunch at Via Napoli and tonight Hoop Dee Doo Review.

Excellent!

Enjoy the rest of your journey.

You got a last minute res for HDDR???

Really not that hard to believe. Just a quick check just now shows nothing for tonight, but complete availability for all 3 shows for tomorrow night.

The belief that 180 day reservations are a necessity at WDW is a complete myth. We jumped out of that rat race years back, and haven't looked back. Never make reservations more than one day in advance anymore, and mostly day of. Works out great, and zero problems eating where we want to eat. It's great to vacation not being tied to an "eating schedule".

Sounds like you all are having a blast. Glad to hear the no reservation route is treating you well. That is our preferred method too and there is always so much available.

I’m not that surprised. Most of the restaurants that you mention are in DS which doesn’t have as much demand as resort and park restaurants. Skippers doesn’t seem to be too popular. I had lunch there a month or so ago and it was maybe a quarter full. Maybe it’s the cost that keeps folks away as it’s a bit pricey. No experience with HDDR as I haven’t ever been there.

However if the DS restaurants work best for you that that’s great.
