Here is a video of a renovated Pop Century standard room for those parking their mobility scooter.

The video starts off showing the two beds open with one chair between the beds and door and in front of the bedside tables of a standard room.

The Murphy queen bed on the right is open.

The closet is located in the bathroom for the standard room versus the Accessible Roll-in shower room the closet is located on the outside of the bathroom. And the ironing board is located in the bathroom on the wall across from the toilet in the Accessible Roll-in shower room. There is no door to the toilet in the Accessible Roll-in shower room.

Also as a small note, the coat rack is located outside the bathroom wall across from the beds in the standard room whereas in the Accessible Roll-in shower room the coat rack is located on the wall next to the front door across from the Murphy bed.

You can also see the angled alcove doorway entrance between the Murphy queen bed and the front window.

Then the Murphy queen bed is shown being raised and the table appears. This is the way I leave it since I stay by myself with my wheelchair.

I would imagine having to leave it open with four guests would make it more crowded.

With the Murphy queen bed open there is still room to park one mobility scooter next to the window and one mobility scooter next to the connecting door next to the bathroom wall across from the regular queen bed.

The standard rooms beds are high to allow luggage to be stored underneath them.

The Accessible Roll-in shower room queen bed do not have this option since the bed is lower.

The fridge tower is located next to the window for the standard room versus the fridge tower is located outside of the bathroom wall in the Accessible Roll-in shower room.

In the standard room, there is a small space large enough to set up the luggage stand versus in the Accessible Roll-in shower room there is no space between the closet, the TV drawer stand, and the fridge tower.

This leaves more room in the Accessible Roll-in shower room between the front window and the TV and drawer stand.

I borrowed the following photos from "fortforever."

With the Murphy queen bed open or closed, there is still room to park one mobility scooter next to the window in either type room.

Accessible Roll-in shower room does have more room against this wall for another mobility scooter versus a standard room that uses the connecting door.

Because they move everything next to the bathroom wall in the Accessible Roll-in shower room.

I have some of my own photos in the next post, but I have a cheaper camera and the photos are not as nice as these.

I stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort on the dates of June 22, 2018, Friday and departed on July 5, 2018, Thursday.

This room has a roll-in shower, one lower queen bed, and one lower queen murphy bed with the table. Both queen beds are much lower than the standard room for easy access and transfer for wheelchair users. This is all new to me at my stage of life.

When I used to use the standard rooms, the beds were too high and my feet never touched the ground. The staff offered me a stool with an attached hand height handle to help me get in and out of the bed. But this has gotten too difficult for me without falling at the age of 68 years old. They also offered a bathtub chair which was a help, but the bathtub is too small to turn the chair around. That is why I am going to use these new rooms from now own. I think that this works better for me from my personal experience. But, of course, everyone has their own unique experiences and likes and dislikes and abilities. These are my likes.

This is the view of my door for room #0203 and the next room #0204. Notice these doors are not recessed like the standard rooms in order to give more interior space. I don't know what type of room #0204 is because it was always occupied. The resort was full every day of my visit so I was unable to see the other rooms. I am told the other accessible rooms have a lower bathtub and lower beds, but no roll-in shower.

This is the view further to the left of my Room #0203. The room you see was #0204, then #0205 & #0206. You can see how room #0204 doorway is flush to the windows whereas the rest of the standard rooms are recessed to allow easier passage of guests, especially when the large housekeeping carts are in the way during their cleaning of the rooms.

This is the photo inside my room #0203. Notice the door is flush not angled like the standard room alcove doorway entrances. I am traveling by myself. I put one chair next to the front door to put items on it to help me after I open the door to leave the room. It was easier to hold the door open and pick up something from the chair. Next to that is my large suitcase on the stand and a hamper for laundry.

A little further left in the room is my wheelchair. They moved the coat rack to this space. It has five little knobs to hang coats, etc.. I use it to hang my wheelchair charger, rain poncho, etc.. You can see my wheelchair next to it with an electrical outlet below. In the standard room, the coat rack is on the wall just outside the bathroom. They also moved the fridge and cabinet to the other side of the TV/dresser. This created more open space near the door entrance.

This is the TV and dresser. It appears to be in the same place as the standard room across from the queen bed. You may notice the fridge and cabinet is on the left and not the right side as in the standard room to allow more free space.

77c-Jlf52GqHInsLLXPEwu0nnvuKy6z4EZRHaJ3rEnumY5FKwY8qkCXS5GUrA7EDJNuKs0xxhQa2n2_6jTXae7GrtIrsYpT7KR6506Gwj-bq9rYstMGq4_HTrijPtss7Qz5NVs31Zd4XpzLBs2baDQRQBV76eboPAtGLlrBxCeR29cz8L7UE6MFYTSjpVGPRV5JEJRXotXepKQLbqcvYKHGDWoQb1oF3rc4FAXXMcwLOZ2xF_Qw_0nzqeZxoCXE6d7U7NLfALH6ba4Bc7jraCOO7bcisuFsA6Lyr4KdpGKzOq_LzyN4KXI9kkSttGN76WV9wAfGatKVEOViSdqftOwcV2aPsnWPFCU89Gw0qzYU-8B1dvhx6Da50E9NVX_AQkt-9APq6FzUm_kpBI7zyTyRw3vIRkbOSRqM4ZdMg8n-dUPTKQc0I--fkID6H8-8PZ7b9AyFBermA91aKM7kf3ppGOHaoHrgr36bXWwIzkYgwgusECISQaCGg_gWoj5vWJROjUsRyzARFowhLloiV22fClFtTCZlo6XG2nY8BKKtUW0a1fd4qeOx0guNDv8nTPgmJ2ruKG9nEqbmjNUDZYLxW1lEEX7YnmdtBkIXl5OKkSx80cQUrcitvO2QY6JmOI8GbRuzEvrZFWWFf7YBITaZV=w1010-h758-no

And finally the rest of the wall. You see the TV and dresser on the right, followed by the fridge and cabinet on the left and the closet further left. In the standard room, I believe the closet is in the bathroom. The bathroom door is a little wider allowing easier access for a wheelchair. I really notice the difference from the standard room. It was even difficult to turn around in the standard room bathroom with a wheelchair. The closet blocks the wall where the coat hanger would have gone in a standard room.

Now on the other wall, it looks the same as a standard room, but with a little more space, and the queen bed is lower than the standard room. This is not a King bed. There are three bedside tables fixed to the wall, and each has an electrical outlet with spaces for two plugs and two USB ports. I plugged my C.P.A.P. machine and phone recharger at the center bedside table. The resort phone is also located here. I should have taken a photo of the bed legs showing how much lower they were. Maybe you can tell from the height of the mattress and the bedside tables.

And this is the photo of the Murphy bed table, Murphy queen bed was left up. There seemed to be more space between the bed and the table to me as compared to the standard room. But it may just be my imagination. The table was missing that large metal piece on the floor to allow the queen bed to fold out lower to the floor. Sometimes I used my chair and sometimes I used my wheelchair when I was at the table. Sometimes, I would turn my chair sideways to the TV and use an upside-down trash can to raise my right leg up when I could. I think next time I might take my tripod seat for this.

Disney's Pop Century Resort Room #0203 refurbished roll-in shower room review with photos.

I stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort on the dates of June 22, 2018, Friday and departed on July 5, 2018, Thursday.

This room has a roll-in shower, one lower queen bed, one lower, queen murphy bed with the table. Both queen beds are much lower than the standard room for easy access and transfer for wheelchair users.

The front window, luggage, hamper, bedside table, and table for the Murphy. I had enough space without the hamper to roll my wheelchair on the window side of the table to use my laptop and watch TV. I may bring my folding beach chair with the footrest to use as a lazy boy type chair to keep my right leg raised.

There are five of these outlets showing two plug inputs and two USB inputs in the room. One on each of the three bedside tables and two on each end of the TV/Dresser.

Here is a closer photo of the fridge and cabinet with the coffee maker. I like the see-through fridge. Above is another electrical outlet and light switch for the counter and small coffee maker which I did not use. Two carrot cake cookies anyone? In the standard room, this was located on the right side of the TV/dresser. And next to that is the closet that would have been inside the bathroom of a standard room. This space would have also been used for a connecting door. But this room did not have a connecting room.

The bathroom is so much larger than the standard room with a bathtub. The toilet has a handrail beside and behind the toilet with enough space on the left to back the wheelchair up in order to transfer to the toilet seat.

You can see the part of the extra space on the right to back up the wheelchair between the sink and the toilet. The sink counter allows a wheelchair to slide under. To the left of the sink is the wall; then to the left of that, you will see the shower curtain to the roll-in shower.

Photo of the roll-in shower entrance. The sink on the right and towel hanger on the left. It may be hard to see, but on the floor is a soft, white, hollow rubber tube that is easier to roll over, or to step on. The regular bathtub chair was brought with me from the standard room, but I didn't use it because of the newer roll-in shower seat. The older room fold down shower seat was wooden and was too high for me. I ended up not using this bathtub chair because I liked using the mesh seat. I wasn't sure at first. I weigh 340 lbs., but I soon felt comfortable with the mesh chair. It appears if a wheelchair user has to transfer they could only roll straight in and use a board to transfer. There didn't seem to be to much room to turn around in the shower for those that needed to do that.

Now we are in the roll-in shower and you can see the newer shower seat on the right which has a fine mesh nylon seat similar to a patio chair and is held onto the wall with heavy metal attachment and two front leg supports. I do not transfer to the seat like many wheelchair users. The older seats were wooden and larger and may be preferred. But, I use the two handrails sit down and to get up. I was worried at first as the nylon mesh seat had some give in it, but I weigh 340 lbs. and I felt comfortable and safe using it. But this is just my personal experience and, of course, everyone may have a different experience especially with what they are used to using when transferring from a wheelchair. The shampoo, body wash, and conditioner pumps are closer to the seat. And the shower has a handheld shower which can be fixed to an attachment to raised or lowered. With soapy hands, the handheld shower was a little slippery to hold, but I either used a washcloth or rinsed my hands of slippery soap suds. This will work for me and is so much easier than a standard room bathtub. But this is all very new to me using a roll-in shower.

And the shower has a handheld shower which can be fixed to an attachment to raise or lower. I lowered it from a standing position to a sitting position so that I can reach it better. The handheld shower can be positioned as a regular shower height or lower for sitting and moved in any direction. The new refurbished roll-in shower was good for me.

They hung the ironing board across from the toilet. The standard room had the closet located here. There is so much more room for me with everything outside the bathroom. Everything was so much better in the newer refurbished room. I am new to this type of room. I can still ambulate. I am glad that I do not have to struggle to get in and out for the standard room high beds and small bathtubs with a chair. I'll be going back in October and December and I will try and take more photos of other accessible rooms and take measurements. Please just let me know what you would like to see or measure.

Every day when I left my room for the parks or to get coffee or just explore, I saw the following scenes.

Ray, as always, thank you for your very thorough review with pictures and videos! I have a question, unless you object to it -- if it's none of my business, I understand! Do you meet up with other people when you're at the parks or do you do your tours alone? I have noticed that you always mention traveling alone, but I wasn't sure if that meant that you were actually by yourself the whole time. I did WDW alone once, and it was harder for me to enjoy it without sharing it with someone. I wish I enjoyed it more on my own, I would try to go more often when my husband was occupied! As it is, we live on opposite coasts and only see each other twice a year (6 weeks a year) because I live on my own to receive medical care in another location from where my husband has to live to work. We took our great first trip to WDW in 2017 and can't wait to go back -- but we're paying off some debt currently and it will be awhile. Plus, it's hard to arrange to go together because of our living arrangements and my husband's job. I know when he retires we plan to go to Disney frequently and live within driving distance to make that possible. I'm glad he has agreed to that because I'm really the Disney lover, he just goes along with me! :) Sorry for the nosy question. I love your posts!

Hi, BethCPTSD. No worries. I try to do both. But I do travel alone since I have no family. I was never blessed to get married and have a family of my own. I do feel lonely sometimes when vacationing alone. And you are welcome.

I also want to thank you for the time and effort you put into your posts. I didn't think of it until now, but there may be others (like my DH:rolleyes1) who may not mention it, but has concerns of "how will this work at disney". With his surgery, he used a low hospital bed at home at first, our normal bed took a little time to get use to the height. And I seem to remember the bed at some resorts, you need a almost need a ladder to get into bed. If a step with handle is available, that might be something DH would need.

And I seem to remember the bed at some resorts, you need a almost need a ladder to get into bed. If a step with handle is available, that might be something DH would need.

Hi, jo-jo. Awww, thank you. I enjoy the information and photos and I remember when I wish I had this information for the first time when I was curious about the same thing. At Disney's Pop Century Resort the bed was too high for me to get in and out of. Especially when I get out of the bed. I guess with the newer floor without carpet I tended to slip when reaching for the floor with one foot touching the ground. I slipped on the floor and couldn't grab onto anything to break my fall to the floor. I was okay, but it took me about 30-minutes to try and get up and it was painful. I made it though. I guess when waking up in the morning I should have stayed in bed until I was more awake to realize to be extra careful before getting out of bed, but I could never remember to do that.

The staff offered a device that looked like a stair step with a tall hand handle to hold onto when stepping up or stepping down from the bed. I liked the handle so that I did not have to reach down and move the step with my foot. And he high handle acted as extra support when getting out or in the bed.

But, unfortunately, I started losing my balance even with the step stool, so I switched to the Pop Century resort's handicap room with Roll-in shower. Both the queen bed and fold down Murphy queen bed are lower to get in and out off with my feet touching the ground flat footed and not just a toe touching the floor.

I haven't had any problems getting in or out of their beds now.

I don't like getting older...ha...ha...ha.

Mr. Sharpton, you are very much appreciated and an asset to the Boards. Thank you for your many good posts.

Hi, Pats Dragon. Awww, thank you.

My DH uses his cane when getting out of bed. He feels he needs that little bit of stability. Doesn't need the walker anymore, but not ready to go free standing , especially half asleep.

If I may, I'd like to use you as an example for getting to disney. There are times, we want to get to disney, but wish we could have "Scotty, beam us up" and make the travel easier.
