Has anyone stayed at Vero Beach the night before the cruise?

I just made reservations today for the night before our cruise in Vero Beach. I am wondering what a good time would be to leave Vero to head for the port? We will have a rental car with us that we will need to drop off at Avis. Thanks!

According to Microsoft Street & Trips, using optimal routing, it's 76 miles from VB to Avis. Allow 1 hour, 28 minutes.
