Our 4 yo loves Pinocchio and he IS totally Pinocchio! I affectionately call him by that name from time to time, especially when he's not making good choices. Haven't caught him smoking a cigar yet though LOL! Did little kids really do that back then?
Originally the idea for Pleasure Island was that there would just be a lot of candy and sweets and such. It was Walt himself who said that little boys unsupervised will be absolutely incorrigible little delinquents and they changed the scene to include smoking, drinking, and fighting. Lampwick is chewing tobacco while smoking a cigar. That's some hard living right there!
And I apologize to Peter Pan for overlooking him on Feb. 5th (his 66th...but who's counting since he never grows old!). But we do have Cinderella's 69th coming up on the 15th (but shhhh! A woman never discusses her age!)
