Get yer lugs on we're going to Disney - July 16 TR (update 8/11) Football and Chili's

Quite amazed that pkondz wasn't with you, right?

Right.

Do you know I think that must be what it was!

Are you sure? I'm sure Chelsea would have taken some photos.

She would have too whilst hula-hooping! OK next time we'll do some hula (let's forget the hoop bit).

Who looks rather excited about the prospect of becoming a pirate.

Or maybe not. This takes me back to Pete's first trip when he was 3. In those days you could meet Hook and Smee. When it was Hannah and Peter's turn to go up Pete got scared and ran away. Mr Smee came over to see him and unbeknownst to Pete a certain Pirate crept up behind him.

Nah. He recognizes a princess when he sees one.

Most of the time I get away with being under cover but some princes are harder to fool!

Thanks for the tip!
How exactly does one assure themselves of this?

I think you try the ice cream cookies for breakfast option - it worked for us!

There's even more??? Wow!

Oh, yes! Now can you see why the Photo pass website took a hissy fit. One day I will get to the end of Day 2 of our 14 day trip! :faint:

Of course it was.

 Okay!

Chelsea probably tipped him off.

I see no problem with eating ice cream cookies for breakfast.

Wow... love all the family photos and parade photos. I'll have to take your advice about becoming grand marshal to get the free family photo shoot. It really looks like you all had a great time with all of it. I'm glad you had this opportunity.

Sorry for the delay in my getting to replies. Hannah is in the middle of exams for her national qualifications and I've not had much time for anything else.

So much interaction! You really had some extra special attention poured out over you!

We certainly did!

What a fun morning you're continuing to have. :)

It was great fun... technically we'd moved into the afternoon by this point but it's so easy to lose track of time in Disney.

Wow... love all the family photos and parade photos.

Thank you! It's great to have some photos from a different perspective.

It is a good excuse to eat ice cream cookies for breakfast just in case.

We certainly did! I really wasn't expecting it as I thought they would only choose a family with younger children.

How did Hannah do?

And congratulations Alfie!

How did Hannah do?

She worked hard and hopefully she's done well. She won't get her results until August. Next year she will sit her Higher exams which are the ones she will need for entry to university.

And congratulations Alfie!

He has made himself very much at home. He now loves walking and takes me for a power walk every morning before work. A great way to wake up in the morning!

Long time to wait!
Why so long?

And consequently... harder, I presume?

Good! :)

I can imagine! He looks really strong!

The exam papers are externally marked by subject specialist teachers. There is quite a process for quality assurance that takes time. Each marker has a marker check where someone from the Examining Team will look at a sample of the exam papers they have marked. They also have a process where senior staff from the Scottish Qualifications Authority meet with some subject specialists to discuss whether the course assessment was set at the right level of difficulty. They can change the grade boundaries if they decide the exam was too difficult or easy. I bet you're sorry you asked.

And consequently... harder, I presume?

Yes, they are at a higher level and students study less subjects than they do at National 5 level. Although typically Scottish students will study more subjects at Higher than the rest of the UK do with A levels.

I'm glad you are pleased he has found his forever home.

I can imagine! He looks really strong!

He is strong but he walks well with a harness and training lead. He doesn't get off lead in case he runs off at 40 mph.

Beautiful new addition to the family. Congratulation Alfie for getting a lovely new forever home!

Thanks. He is a handsome hound! He has settled in so well. Fostering was definitely the best way to get a dog in the house.

Not sorry. That's actually pretty interesting.
I'm learning stuff!

Nah. Not a big deal. Just get a cheetah as another pet to chase him down.

See? I'm a problem solver.

That's something I really like about the Dis - you learn so much about all sorts of things. I think it is good to be knowledgeable about other cultures.

Mmm.. might be an idea. I think you must have been on Solution Oriented training. Do cheetahs have good recall?

Hey there!

Just checking in with the threads I'm on and catching up on the banter a bit. :) Hope all is well with you and your crew!

Hi! Thanks for popping by! Sorry there's not much happening here. I am ridiculously busy with the end of school term. My school finishes up on Tuesday for the Summer. There is so much to do before then. This week I've spend every night reading over pupil reports and writing my comment at the end. It is funny people outside of work keep saying to me 'Oh, you must be winding down for the holidays'. Hopefully I'll get back on here soon.

Well, until today, when I finally found some free time, I've been absolutely ridiculously busy as well, and haven't put an update up on my own thread in FAR too long. Hoping to very soon! Maybe even tonight. So, please, no apologies necessary! I'm just trying myself to keep my head above water on the DIS. So, no worries at all. :) Good luck with finishing all you have to do up; glad you can look forward to the holidays coming up.

Hey! Just joining in on your magical TR. Love all the pictures of you and the family....definitely shows what a magical time you are having. Can't wait to read more about it. Kwaherini!

I finished up work last week - although I did go in for a whole day to try and clear some unfinished tasks. We are going away on holiday next weekend. Over the last few days I have managed to book our car hire, overnight airport hotel for way back, parking and water park tickets. Some things I have ended up paying a good bit more for as I have left things so late to book. The important thing is they are booked. Our weather just now is dismal and I am looking forward to some time in the sun!

Day Two Part Twelve: You will become a part of the magic!

I must apologise for leaving you out in the baking heat for so long. How rude of me!

Would a small hug help?

We made lots of new friends that day!

Alice even invited Hannah to join her in Wonderland.

Alice seemed a bit stunned by Hannah's reply!

Well, hello up there! Yes, we have Mickey ears! Children it's not kind to make donkey noises at Pinocchio!

Hard to tell if he was shocked or just blowing kisses! Definitely must have been kisses!

Hi Donald!

Yes, you are still No 1!

Pluto is still a favourite of Pete's.

Pete also has a real love of the chipmunks! Hi Dale!

Hello Chip - love your outfit!

And finally...

At the end of the parade we were presented with a certificate for being the Grand Marshal. Chelsea gave us a card with a code with all the photos she had taken and told us we were able to select one to get printed up to remind us of the occasion. Fred gave us an anytime Fast Pass in case we missed our final Fast Pass. We thanked Fred and Chelsea. It had truly been a magical experience. We hot tailed it over to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train which went down while we were in the queue. Although we were able to select another Fast Pass we decided we had had enough for one day.

I parked Hannah and Peter on bench with one of their favourite snacks, Frozen lemonade, while I went into the Memory Maker sales centre inside the Town Square Theatre building. Of course uploading the photos and selecting the favourite to get printed ended up taking quite a bit of time and we were a lot later leaving the park than we had hoped.
